Ryotaro Masuda (25), of Hiroo, Shibuya Ward, is accused of injuring his girlfriend, Yui Murata (25), by punching her in the face at their home. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the two had been living together at Masuda’s house, but the incident came to light when he called 119 to report that he had collapsed. Murata was confirmed dead at the scene and had multiple bruises on his face and body. When questioned, he admitted to the charges, saying, “We got into an argument over the temperature of the room and I hit him in the face.” The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the possibility that he may know the circumstances surrounding Murata’s death.
