“Sukesan Udon,” a popular soul food of Kitakyushu, has expanded into the Kanto region. On the 27th, the first Kanto store opened in Chiba Prefecture and has already proven popular with customers. RKB reporter Kato Tomoka: “The first Kanto branch of Suesan Udon was opened along the busy Narita Highway, and many people have been lining up since before it even opened.” The Suesan Udon Yachiyo branch in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, opened on the 27th. Before the store opened, a long line formed around the store. A visitor said, “I’ve been lining up since before 7am. My parents’ home is in Kitakyushu, so I’ve been going there since I was little.” Visitor: “I lived in Kitakyushu for four years during college, so I used to go there almost every week. I was really looking forward to the opening. I’ve been wanting to eat it for ages.” Store staff: “We are now pleased to announce the grand opening of Suesan Udon Yachiyo!” As soon as the store opened at 10am, many customers who had been waiting for the opening came in and enjoyed the taste of Suesan Udon. A customer who had finished eating commented, “It’s completely different from the udon you get at udon restaurants in Tokyo. “I ate it a lot in Fukuoka, so I’m happy to be able to eat it with the same taste as back then!” Child: “It was delicious!” Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, which “Suisan Udon” chose as its first location in the Kanto region, is about 30 kilometers from central Tokyo and is an area that is being developed as a commuter town. Suesan President Sato Takashi: “The original building was very large, with 130 seats, the largest number available at Suesan, and we found a large restaurant, so we opened our first store in Yachiyo, Chiba.” Founded in 1976, Suesan Udon has expanded into the Kansai and Chugoku regions, and has grown to more than 70 stores. In October of this year, the company sold all of its shares to Skylark Holdings, becoming a subsidiary of the company, and has now expanded into the Kanto region for the first time. Takashi Sato, president of Suisan, said, “I think there are many people who have never tried Suisan, so I would like them to first taste the flavor of our dashi, our proud dashi. I’m hopeful that customers in the Kanto region will become fans as well. ” The first Tokyo store will open in Ryogoku, Tokyo in February next year, and there are plans to expand to Saitama Prefecture and other areas across the country.
>>14 They first opened in Kansai, where they were somewhat successful, so they’re now ready to move into Kanto I think they’ll do well somewhere along Route 16, and I think it would be good to have them next to Katsuya or something.
They’re increasing the number of stores as rapidly as Ikinari Steak. Can they maintain the taste even if they hire amateurs in a hurry to secure manpower?
