The women’s breaking, a new event at the Paris Olympics, took place at the Place de la Concorde on the 9th (10th Japan time), and in the final, Ami Yuasa (dancer name Ami, 25) defeated Dominika Banević (dancer name Nicka, 17) of Lithuania 3-0 to become the prestigious first gold medalist. However, with the sport being removed from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics despite its birthplace being the United States, French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported in a noteworthy report that “Ami will probably go down in history as the first and last gold medalist.” The three letters “ami” have been engraved into the more than 100-year history of the Olympics. (omitted)
In its article, the aforementioned USA Today touched on the reason why the head of the IOC was at the special venue in the Place de la Concorde, stating as follows: “Breaking is one of the new wave sports introduced following skateboarding and surfing, which debuted at the last Tokyo Olympics, as part of a broader effort by the IOC to appeal to younger fans and add an urban flavor to the Summer Olympics.” Meanwhile, for reasons not disclosed, the organizing committee for the Los Angeles Olympics four years from now decided in October last year to remove breaking from the list of potential additional sports. In response to this situation, the French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported as follows: “Since breaking will not be an event at the next Games in LA in 2028, Ami will make history as the first and likely last Olympic gold medalist in breaking.”

I’m sure Japan is proud of winning the gold medal, but I don’t understand what’s good or interesting about dancing or kids’ skateboarding.

A dance of provocation?

Where do skateboarding and breaking rank?

I like how he crawls on his hands and knees and approaches the other person, it looks so stupid.

Keep breaking at the LA Olympics and stop baseball instead.

What was he thinking as he looked down at the person spinning around at his feet?

It’s the cheapest sport.

If we did it in Japan, it would cost about 48 billion yen.

It felt like watching karate, although it’s better than karate.

That was funnier
And it was a facial expression.

Is it a sport or a pastime?
It’s a special judged sport with a small number of participants
It’s just too niche lol.
0015Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 10, 2024 (Sat) 15:17:34.21ID:YV7onsHM0
I thought this was better than karate forms.
0016Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 10, 2024 (Sat) 15:17:36.54ID:4w5PhBOG0
It was fun to watch the skilled performers perform,
but I don’t really understand the judging criteria, so I wonder if it counts as a sport?

Is DJ Matsunaga not going to perform? I don’t know.

I think they were just scared because Japan was so strong lol.

Parkour might have been a good idea for the Paris Olympics, but people would have died.

If I’d gotten a silver medal this time, I’d have been really disappointed because I wouldn’t have had a chance to get revenge. I’m glad I got the gold medal.
0028Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 10, 2024 (Sat) 15:21:32.38ID:fbAguXl/0(1/3)
Lithuania looked amazing
But Japan won by a landslide
It’s a strange sport, so I think it was a good idea not to do it in LA
Even I could do the Australian one.

The Lithuanian girl’s sense of weightlessness and softness was amazing
But I don’t know the name or details of the technique, so I don’t know how to describe it any more lol.

Why not include it in modern pentathlon? Fencing → Breaking
Swimming
Equestrian → BMX
Running → Parkour
Shooting → E-games.

It would have been fine if they had only the final tournament. They cut out Takaya’s semi-final on NHK BS Wrestling.

He’s more popular in the major leagues than baseball, which means Ami is a better athlete than Shohei Ohtani.

This is no good. If Japanese people don’t win gold, I’ll 100% complain. Stop competing in sports where you don’t know the standards.
0036Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 10, 2024 (Sat) 15:24:06.84ID:10OrrSpZ0(1/4)
There is plenty of room for improvement and he looks set to make a comeback in Brisbane.

It seems tough if he’s not pushed in the US, the country where he originated.
Brisbane, where the representative is only Yamato people, probably won’t push him that much.
If he doesn’t do well in the US, a strong country for men, he’ll probably have to go somewhere like Japan.

If possible, it would be more indie to have a group dance battle between countries.

Additional sports for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics: Baseball, softball, flag football (a sport similar to American football), cricket, lacrosse, and squash.

By the way, breaking, which was selected in Paris, was not selected.
Safin, skateboarding, and climbing were promoted to official events.

I think it would be a better atmosphere if the crowd was more excited. Also, I was surprised there were so few young players.

I hope it’s just the people who make those forms and shout them.

While I was waiting for Kumite to be hired for so many years, the overseas teams got stronger and I couldn’t make money there anymore, so I’m fine with just doing that.

If they want to bring it back, they need to revise the rules for the Olympics. It’ll be like skateboarding and get people excited, otherwise it’ll be a mess.
