So? Just because this fire happened doesn’t mean the tax burden on Japanese people will be lightened, so it doesn’t really matter.

The fire broke out on the 8th floor of a 9-story building, and there were only 27 guests there, but 18 people were killed or injured, 7 of whom died – the damage is huge. It wasn’t even during sleeping hours, so there must have been some kind of problem. Or maybe the escape route was blocked during dinner at the restaurant on the top floor?

Apparently, two customers who jumped from the 8th floor onto the mat died.
The fire started in an empty room, and the black smoke spread quickly.
The owner is probably on the verge of being hanged, so he may be fleeing overseas.

Why is the governor inspecting the area even though there is no natural disaster? Well, the hotel’s fire prevention and evacuation plans were probably flawed, and the administrative supervision and guidance was full of holes, so maybe the governor is aware that it’s an issue of responsibility lol.

You’re right, you don’t see any kanji in Seoul. The name “Seoul City” was decided by the US Military Government on August 15, 1946. The name “Keijo” was decided upon by Superintendent-General Ito Hirobumi in 1910. “Hanseong” from 1395 to 1910, and before that Yi Seong-gye moved the capital from Kaesong to “Hanyang” from 1392 to 1395.
