TBS only continued it because they valued their relationship with Horipro. They probably just wanted to use it as an opportunity. TBS itself has been doing things for decades that should have led to them having their broadcasting license revoked a long time ago.
There were a lot of rumors about shows being cancelled during the time of Mechaike and Miyaoka, but recently, when these kinds of reports come out, they’re almost always correct.
