Police announced that around 50 university students were believed to have been lost in a kayak off the coast of Lake Biwa in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, shortly after 6 p.m. on the 9th. According to police, a student from Biwako Seikei Sport College was lost off the coast of Lake Biwa while kayaking at around 6:10 p.m. on the 9th.
