A man who was a member of the House of Representatives of the Japan Restoration Party has been arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female junior high school student, according to an interview with an investigator. The suspect arrested on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse is Tamotsu Shiiki (58), a former member of the House of Representatives who was a member of the Japan Restoration Party until 2021. According to investigators, Shiiki is suspected of sexually assaulting a female junior high school student at a karaoke bar in Kabukicho, Tokyo, last month. During questioning, Shiiki denied the allegations, and the Metropolitan Police Department is listening to both sides and carefully conducting its investigation.
