Anker Japan announced on September 17 that it would voluntarily recall and replace affected products following incidents of its mobile batteries catching fire overseas. Although no outbreaks have occurred in Japan to date, the company explained that it has taken this measure as its first priority to prevent the damage from spreading in the future, and has already halted new shipments and sales of the affected products. The press release, titled “Apology and Voluntary Recall of Our Company’s Mobile Batteries,” states that the affected mobile batteries are those that have been identified as affected by entering their serial numbers in the online application form during the applicable product and sales period announced by the company.
