On September 20, a six-year-old girl was rescued from a sexual assault attempt in Dhaula village, Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, northern India, by a group of monkeys. [Video] The crime was captured on security cameras. News18 reported that police said the suspect, who lives in another village, took the girl, who was playing outside her house, to a street near a religious facility and lured her into an abandoned building. When he stripped her and tried to sexually assault her, a group of monkeys suddenly appeared and tried to attack her, so the frightened man fled, leaving the girl behind. Surveillance camera footage reported by News Nation shows the man walking while holding the girl’s hand. The Times of India reported the girl’s father as saying: “A man was seen on nearby CCTV footage walking down a narrow lane with his daughter, but his identity is yet to be ascertained. The man threatened to kill my daughter. If the monkey hadn’t appeared, my daughter would have been killed by now.” (Source below)
