Shinji Saito, a former member of the comedy trio Jungle Pocket, has had his contract terminated by Yoshimoto Kogyo after his company was referred to prosecutors on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse. Last year, there were a series of reports about his alleged infidelity, and this time the measure was a “one-hit removal,” but for Yoshimoto Kogyo, which now places a high priority on compliance, “he was someone we had no choice but to cut ties with” (an entertainment industry source, same below). Saito, who had debts far exceeding his annual income, was referred to prosecutors for allegedly forcing a co-star in his twenties to perform oral sex on him during a TV show shoot in July this year. There is no end to celebrities who lose their jobs due to relationships with women, but in Saito’s case, it seems that “it went beyond the level of excessive.” “Firstly, last fall, Friday magazine reported on Saito’s infidelity twice in a row, but even after that, he seemed to have no intention of stopping his womanizing, saying things like, ’I’ve got to be careful not to get found out next time.’ His wife, Saori Seto, had given up halfway, and although she did show anger towards those around her, they did not go as far as divorcing him.” (Sports newspaper reporter)
The third “yellow card” ended in the worst possible outcome, with the police involved. “Saito was just recently referred to the prosecutor’s office, and from now on the prosecutor’s office will decide whether to indict him or not, but his contract has been terminated without waiting for the results. The deciding factor was, of course, the fact that this was the “third time in a year” and that he showed no signs of remorse, but there were also many voices expressing concern about Saito’s behavior” (the entertainment agency source mentioned above).
Some reports have also suggested that Saito is in debt… “There are rumors flying around that he owes tens of millions of yen to Yoshimoto Kogyo, the company he was signed to, and even to unscrupulous sources such as loan sharks. Apparently, the amount was far more than his annual income, and people around him warned that he would eventually have trouble repaying it. Shukan Bunshun has reported that Saito has also borrowed money from close supporters and younger comedians, leaving those around him astounded. In fact, around two years ago, some “disturbing information” was being circulated about Saito’s social connections, but since the situation has developed like this, it has come back to haunt those involved.” (Comedy industry insider, same below)

When the second affair, which was essentially an attempted rape, was reported, there were a lot of pictures circulating on Instagram of her having fun with a group of semi-criminals in a VIP room or something, along with pictures of her hanging out with a company president called Unagi Oji.

I don’t really get it, but
if Saito has bad connections, I think it might be from a loan shark
and now that it’s been revealed that he borrowed money from them
as a celebrity he has nothing to lose, so doesn’t that mean he doesn’t have to pay back the money to bad people?
But I wonder if it would be bad if he didn’t pay it back.

The first one last fall was a yellow card
The second was a red card, but for some reason it was changed to a yellow and he was briefly suspended, which even became a joke
And this time, he’s got two red cards in one go (one for sexual intercourse on a location bus + one for a woman he met for the first time without clearly confirming her consent)
I think.

At this point, the debt issue doesn’t matter, just focus on sexual crimes.

Saito isn’t the type to place winning tickets, but is satisfied by placing large amounts of money on his favorite horses regardless of popularity, so his payout rate is terrible. However, he said that he placed less bets after getting married, but I wonder if that was just for TV and that in reality he was still betting tens of thousands of yen per race.
