[Exclusive audio recording] Is it a lecture? Is it suppression of speech? Former Vice Governor Katayama’s “adultery” remarks are being heavily pressured by the prefectural government press clubs of Asahi, NHK, etc. The Hyogo Prefectural Gubernatorial election is witnessing a fierce confrontation between media opinion and online opinion. In the early stages of the battle, an audio recording of a secret meeting of the Prefectural Assembly’s Article 100 Committee held on October 25 was leaked, in which former Vice Governor Katayama Yasutaka, while explaining the reasons for the disciplinary action taken against the former director of the Prefectural Affairs Bureau, referred to private information found on an official computer as an “affair diary,” causing a stir. In the leaked audio recording at that time, it became a hot topic that when Katayama was trying to explain the details, Chairman Okutani Kenichi of the 100-Article Committee stopped him, but the prefectural assembly members were not the only ones who stopped Katayama from speaking. After the secret meeting ended, when Katayama was surrounded by reporters for interviews, he was repeatedly stopped from speaking, and it was revealed that he had become involved in a semi-argument with reporters from NHK and the Asahi Shimbun. The video shows reporters relentlessly questioning Katayama and his lawyer, who are trying to provide limited information on the grounds that it is in the public interest. Source below.
>>12 I wish they had quietly accepted former Governor Saito’s decision to declutter. But their desperate efforts have stirred up a stable sludge that stinks badly.
>>15 So it was a business, or rather, part of the job, and the profits went into slush funds.

>>15 The most shocking thing is how many Japanese people decide who to vote for based on something like this women’s magazine. I really think we should pay off the so-called national debt for all eternity.

>>15 Maybe it wasn’t actually an agreement. That’s scary.
The media really does report things in a biased way. For example, the Liberal Democratic Party and others, who the media considers to be enemies, thoroughly search for and report on their flaws, and act as if it’s the people who are doing things that cause trouble when they are reported that are in their own fault, but they never report on anything inconvenient that is reported on those who are close to the media or on friendly terms with them.
If the former director had managed to make 10 people fall in love with him enough to allow him to film them having sex in the workplace in 10 years, then his character and tolerance must have easily surpassed Saito’s.
>>39 That’s right. The excuse “I didn’t know” doesn’t work.

I listened to the audio, and I wonder who Asahi Shimbun reporters really think they are. What’s more, this means that the reporter already knows the contents of the affair diary on the official PC.
There were reports that he was a man of great character who protested by risking his life for his junior, but I’m sure he was praised too much and it must have been tough for his wife.
