In the cage was another ragdoll, just like Shu-kun, being looked at by an elderly couple. While Tono was waiting in line to see it, he overheard a conversation: “X months? If it’s grown this much, it’s probably past its expiration date.” “I am at a loss for words. …How dare you say such cruel things without showing any ill will. “…In front of children who are like angels,” Tono said indignantly. When introducing her beloved cats to her late mother, she recalled saying, “This one gets attached to me, so it’s a hit,” and “This one doesn’t get attached to me, so it’s a miss.” “That’s basically what their values are. I only see them as objects,” she continues. I wanted to say to the elderly couple, “Please move out. I’ll take care of all these kids!!” but I couldn’t do that. “It ended up being an afternoon that left me with a really unpleasant feeling of unease. Love takes different forms for each person. I know that. I know that, though. “It was a very sad incident,” he recalls, “and I didn’t want to hear about it.” In response to a comment from a fan, he said, “To be honest, I don’t deserve to own one.
