An open-participation style is likely to become a trend at year-end parties this year. However, when the event was actually held, there were not enough participants. ■The number of “optional participation” end-of-year parties is on the rise The end-of-year party season is fast approaching. But this year… Nemuro Shokudo manager Tokuji Hirayama (52) “So far, we have about 10 reservations (for the year-end party). “That’s a small number for the end-of-year party season.” Usually, every day in December is fully booked, but this year there are many empty spaces on the reservation list. Company year-end parties used to be huge, grand affairs attended by many people. What on earth is going on?
Office worker in his 20s “(Year-end parties) are pretty much voluntary. Nowadays, it seems like people who don’t want to participate don’t participate.” Office worker in his 50s “If we force them to come, it becomes like ‘power harassment.’ The stance is, if you want to come, then come. “And the older guys, too.” This year’s year-end parties are seeing an increase in open participation. On the other hand, posts like this were made on social media. ■100 people enrolled… “No one comes” From SNS of Kenichi Kishi (48), tax accountant and representative of Very Best Tax Accounting Corporation “Open participation in the company year-end party. As expected, no one came.” The person who posted this was a man who is the president of a tax accounting firm. I asked him about what had happened. Representative Kishi: “We decided on the rules that the year-end party will be open to everyone and will run from 6pm to 9pm. I was the first one to arrive, but when I did, no one showed up and the staff took a photo of the lonely scene.” The tax accountant’s office in Tokyo where Kishi works has nearly 100 staff members. However, at the end of the year party held earlier this month, no one showed up at the appointed time. Continue reading on Yahoo News TV Asahi News 2024/11/20.
If you’re someone who can’t refuse a year-end party or are being harassed, it’s easier to handle things if you put in a voice recorder and keep evidence.
>>14 I feel like COVID is only good for me, since I’m not infected. Funerals and weddings have been simplified, and I can confidently order parcels to be delivered to my door. Some medical institutions are now able to operate online, and it’s a good thing that the unnecessary rituals that were previously used have been cut out.
I actively participate in year-end and New Year parties because they are a chance to gather information and get noticed. I don’t know if it’s because of that, but I get along well with the executives and am treated better than other employees. It’s a shortcut to promotion.
Look, who would pay money to participate in a King’s Game where the king is decided before the game even starts? Use common sense. I’d rather go home and rest as soon as possible than get free alcohol and free food. That’s what everyone really thinks.
>>25 It would be fine if it was free, but for small and medium-sized businesses in rural areas, the half-cost system of paying out of pocket is still deeply rooted.
This is especially evident in urban areas, but it seems that the number of people in a generation that is happy with dry, work-based relationships has increased. In rural areas, there are still a lot of Showa-era people.
>No one showed up at the appointed time for the year-end party held earlier this month. It looks like Hoshi Hikaru’s Christmas party.

(;゚Д゚) No wonder I’m not going. I play 5chan, Destiny 2, and Street Fighter 6. Modern people are busy. Don’t keep your Showa-era brain forever. Update your thinking.
Ours has been a voluntary event for a long time. Of course, I don’t go, but there are quite a few people who can’t wait to go, so I guess it’s all different for each person.
Drinking parties with 4-5 like-minded people from the same department or colleagues are pretty fun, and it’s not bad to see sides of yourself that you don’t see at work.
