The Japanese economy faces a dire crisis, with GDP falling below OECD average. Public criticism of the Finance Ministry grows.

There has been a lot of talk about the Ministry of Finance’s official social media account being inundated with criticism, but among the comments there were also voices expressing concern for the Japanese economy. In terms of GDP per capita, Japan’s GDP is lower than the average for OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) member countries, meaning that Japan can no longer be considered a developed country. The exact opposite situation has developed from the period when the Japanese economy was growing rapidly, and we now find ourselves in the same economic situation as we were in around 1970. What’s particularly problematic is that there are still very few people who are aware of the danger this poses. Japan has become a “poor country” The figure at the beginning shows the long-term trends in per capita GDP in Japan, the United States, and South Korea, with the OECD average set at 1. The OECD member country average was used as the base because it was believed to represent the average value for developed countries. Japan’s value has been below 1 since 2021. In other words, Japan can no longer be called a developed country. I drew the same diagram a few years ago. I was shocked at that moment. This is because it was thought that if things continued as they were, Japan’s value would fall below the OECD average in the near future. Now, drawing it again, I am shocked to see that my fears have become a reality. The data used here are dollar values converted at market exchange rates. Therefore, there is no doubt that the main cause of this situation is the abnormal depreciation of the yen over the past few years. However, what we are looking at here is not the exact value expressed in dollars, but the ratio with other OECD countries. OECD countries are also affected by the strong dollar, so Japan’s decline in status in recent years is not solely due to the weak yen. Japan’s rapid growth and America’s stagnation after the war After World War II, the relative position of the American economy, which boasted overwhelming economic power, continued to decline until the 1990s. This is shown in the chart at the beginning of this article by the generally declining trend for the U.S. line throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s (its temporary rise in 1985 is likely the result of the strong dollar that followed the Plaza Accord that year). On the other hand, Japan’s rapid economic growth from the late 1950s enabled it to join the ranks of developed countries in the 1970s. This is shown on the chart by the Japanese line crossing 1 in 1973. In the 1980s, Japan surpassed the United States in per capita GDP. In the mid-1990s, Japan’s GDP per capita was nearly twice the OECD average. However, after peaking around this time, Japan’s line began to decline. In other words, the Japanese economy’s global standing continued to decline. Source below.

It’s better for everyone to be moderately poor than to race around with the risk of losing their jobs. It was none other than the Japanese voters who supported the Abe administration and Abenomics. The Abe administration has simply made everyone except the upper classes poor, just as they wanted.

There are a lot of Netuyo people in our community who refuse to acknowledge the obvious fact that Japan is in decline, let alone the economic crisis.

For the first time in 62 years, France’s cabinet resigns after a vote of no confidence. He was removed because he refused to stop the tax increases. It’s still functioning over there.

I wonder why there are so many netizens who hate France lol
Maybe it’s because they hate Hiroyuki, or maybe it’s because of Nissan’s Ghosn
But I think it’s mostly netizens who have turned into right-wing netizens, yelling things like “France is a merchant of death!” and “They sold weapons to China!” lol.

Finally, better political parties other than the LDP are starting to emerge. At the same time, the LDP’s deterioration is accelerating, but up until now, all the other political parties have been really shitty.

A complete shift to socialism through property taxes is a policy in a society with a declining population
I don’t know if it would be supported, though.

The Abe administration’s biggest achievement was the increase in cafeterias for poor children, so you guessed it. The number of temp agencies also increased during the Abe administration. The number has been increasing since 2014, reaching a record high of 44,977 companies in 2020.

The politicians, bureaucrats, and stupid companies that have brought Japan down are unlikely to change now. We have reached a point where this would be impossible without a dramatically brilliant reformer.

Japan may need Trump more than anything else. And the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) needs to be revised. Japan needs to become a gun society too.

There is no country more sensitive to workers’ rights and lifestyles than France, so I honestly don’t get why Net users, who are surely at the bottom of the social ladder, are praising America, which advocates for the rich, survival of the fittest, workers are warriors, and neoliberalism lol. Maybe it’s because they’re right-wing netizens who have been brainwashed by America’s WGIP and have become completely ROM-brained.

French strikes are brutal. Japan also went too far at the end of the Showa era, to the point where it became impossible to even negotiate for wage increases. It seems that the most proactive were the semi-civil servants of the Japanese National Railways.

It is true that Japan is becoming poorer, as the people’s lives are getting harder every year. The elderly spend a lot on medical expenses, so the burden of health insurance alone is increasing every year. Prices are also skyrocketing right now.

Their GDP per capita and average annual income have long since been surpassed.
I don’t feel envious because of the disparity and high unemployment rate, but there’s no point in comparing two acorns.
Even though Japan’s net debt is 500 trillion yen, it’s still a lot of debt, and its assets include wilderness and aging infrastructure.
Financial assets belong to individuals and companies, not the country. In fact, the wealthy fled Greece.
Their national bond rating is lower than South Korea’s A. There are countries with a lower rating than Japan, such as Italy, emerging countries, and countries like Argentina.

No, we are all too aware of this, but there is no one in Japan who has the ability to change things, so there is nothing we can do. There is no other way but to decline. I have no choice but to give up and focus on securing my own assets. However, regardless of the economy, medical and nursing care services will also be devastated in the future, so I sometimes wonder how long I should stay in this country.

Its share of global GDP is declining from 17.6% in 1995 to 4.6% in 2023. The GDP ratio with the United States had narrowed to 1.5 times, but now it’s 7.5 times. It’s declining at an incredible rate, but I’m amazed that it’s managed to get this far without any notable innovation, relying solely on its past heritage.

The average age has been dropping steadily over the past four to five years, and when you look at this together with the number of excess deaths, anyone can see that the population is being artificially decreased. With the New Year’s holiday season approaching, which means the pandemic season, it will be difficult to keep track of the news of deaths.

Next is the tax increase. Looks like 60% of my income will go to tax. If my pay slip says 300,000 yen, my take-home pay will be 120,000 yen? That’s hilarious.
