Starto Inc. announces the “identification” of “malicious ticket resellers,” resale site complies with disclosure request – Bengo4.com
December 9, 2024 13:06
As malicious ticket resales for concerts and plays become a social problem, “starto entertainment” (Minato-ku, Tokyo), which filed a disclosure request with the resale site operator regarding posters who put up tickets for concerts featuring celebrities for resale, announced on December 9 that the identity of the so-called “resellers” has been identified. According to the company, this is the first time that a poster’s information has been disclosed as a result of court proceedings seeking disclosure from a resale site. ●Resale site that received disclosure request “denies” optional request → suddenly agrees to disclosure
The company issued a press release on December 9th. Since August of this year, Starto, a company representing talents from the former Johnny & Associates, together with concert organizers, has filed a provisional injunction under the Limitation of Liability of Internet Service Providers Act against multiple resale sites for posts offering tickets for talent concerts and performances with the aim of reselling them at high prices (the applicant is the organizer company). One of the sites, the Ticket Distribution Center, initially refused to disclose information voluntarily, but after a petition for provisional measures was filed (October 18th, Tokyo District Court) seeking disclosure of sender information, it indicated its intention to disclose the information. The disclosure was dated November 12th. According to starto, this is the first time that a poster’s information has been disclosed as a result of a request for disclosure to a resale site. The company plans to hold those who have posted the content responsible for their illegal resale activities, once their identities have been revealed. The identified poster had resold two consecutive Snowman concert tickets (regular price 9,700 yen each) for 1 million yen. The site operator (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), which agreed to the disclosure, did not respond to an interview request from Bengo4.com News. ●Another site also requests disclosure of all 1,224 Snowman resale listings. Furthermore, starto also announced that on October 28th it filed a request for provisional injunction against the management company of Ticket Jam (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo) to disclose the sender information of all 1,224 Snowman concert tickets being resold. Starto explained to the event management company that the listing and buying and selling of tickets through such resale sites creates work for the organizing company to deal with fraudulent resales, and that attempting to allow unauthorized people to enter constitutes obstruction of business and infringement of rights. However, the other party refused voluntary disclosure, stating that “it is naturally necessary to carry out work to deal with fraudulent resales, and the occurrence of general work to deal with fraudulent resales cannot be said to immediately result in an infringement of business rights.” ● Starto’s CCO Wada Mika said, “We will eradicate resale listings on the site.”

It’s amazing that 19,400 yen can become 1 million yen.
Is the buyer an oil tycoon?

It’s not 1 million for two tickets,
I think it’s a total of 1 million from reselling multiple sets of two tickets.
It’s not some amateur, it’s someone in cahoots with people involved in ticket distribution.

Reselling is fine, but make a law to ensure taxes are collected from resellers. That alone would make resellers extinct.

What can you do after disclosing it?
It would be amazing if you could be arrested and jailed, but if you’re blacklisted and banned from buying, you can just make as many doppelgangers as you want
It’s the age of shady part-time jobs.

If only the Johnny’s issue had caused a stir before he died, we would have been closer to finding out the truth, and the investigation and trial would have dragged on forever, never to be resolved.

The labor costs of checking in over 50,000 people are not inconsiderable, so ticket prices will skyrocket.

The culture of reselling is only seen in the Johnny’s fan community. When Rengoku was arrested, everyone was saying that reselling was okay, saying “Only people who pay the necessary money can see it” and “It reflects the value.”
35Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 15:51:30.44ID:cZh/ZegD0

My girlfriend is from the same area, but she said that because they can’t get tickets, everyone signs up to the fan club under the names of friends, buys tickets on resale sites, or buys tickets through Twitter. The real fans all work in cabaret clubs or the sex industry. In the end, isn’t it just like being a host? I thought to myself.
38Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 15:53:57.19ID:IEltmKCU0

I hope Ticket Jam and Ticket Distribution go out of business. If these two sites go out of business, resale will be gone. I’m sure there are still people doing it on their own on Twitter, etc.

We should use facial recognition for identity verification.
Some people are talking about reselling, but if you can’t go because of illness or something, it’s only when you’re in a desperate situation where you can’t resell, so most people who resell are just buying duplicates.
If you win and you can’t go yourself, don’t transfer the money and let it go.
Then there might be a second sale.
