Shochiku Entertainment updated its official website on the 9th to report on the trouble surrounding Tanishii Matsubara (42), a comedian who lives in haunted properties. Three years ago, Matsubara introduced a property that was the scene of a murder case on his YouTube channel, “Matsubara Tanishii Ch.” Regarding this, on the 4th of this month, YouTuber “Chouki Taro,” who has 490,000 subscribers, uploaded a video titled “A request to Matsubara Tanishii,” in which he revealed that he had received an appeal from the family of the victim of the incident for him to stop turning the content into spiritual content. On the same day, his management agency Shochiku Geino announced, “We would like to inform you about the video in question regarding Matsubara Tanishi, who is affiliated with our company. The video in question does not refer to any property, and in all my previous activities I have never described a deceased person as a ghost,” the company said in a statement. However, they also stated, “In consideration of the feelings of the bereaved family, we have deleted the video and will not make any further announcements about the property you pointed out.”

A bereaved family sued over a video of Matsubara Tanishii, a comedian who lives in haunted properties, and his agency Shochiku Geino commented,

It’s the opposite of saying they’ll do it if there are no complaints.

On the level of a nuisance YouTuber.

Evil spirits go away.
4Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:27:39.51ID:RM5uzRQ60
Well, it’s not good with such a recent incident.
5Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:28:00.50ID:g4FcJS/80
He didn’t use the word ghost, but he was just saying it’s scary because it seems like a ghost might appear in a property. I don’t know if it’s the agency’s job, but there’s not much difference between annoying youtubers and comedians who belong to agencies.

Then the surviving family members should take responsibility for living there lol. I don’t think it’s right to say it’s OK if someone else lives there though.

Well, if it started with a suicide and the landlord complained, that would make sense, but this is just a joke that has nothing to do with you, comedians.

A famous incident?

Huh? Chouki Taro is still active?
Didn’t he say that it was difficult to continue because he was worried about losing revenue or getting banned?
After that I stopped seeing him in recommendations so I thought he was gone.

It’s not a ban, it’s just a monetization suspension, and I don’t know why so there’s nothing I can do
Apparently the monetization will be handled by Niconico.

Spoilers that make fun of someone’s death, like this guy and Murata Ramu, get a lot of views.

That’s no good. I can understand a funny way to die, but a criminal one is no laughing matter.

Well, if you’re making money from videos like this…
Of course you’re gonna get complaints from somewhere.
22Security guard [lv.31].Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:35:57.67ID:qYYIly8D0
That’s not the issue, Shochiku. They should just apologize honestly. Entertainment TV really has rotten brains.
23Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:36:07.53ID:JOuzR98G0
It’s just plain inappropriate if you think about it. Making money off of a death scene is not something a decent person would do.

Shochiku’s haunted property featuring Kitano Makoto and Matsubara Tanishi.

This is why I don’t want to be a YouTuber. It’s too much hassle and causes a lot of controversy.
26Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:37:18.36ID:uz/RSblr0

I wish they would do something completely fictional like Shimada Shuhei.
30Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:38:41.38ID:yAJExYzD0
There was a YouTuber who posted a video in which people cosplaying as ghosts analyzed the Setagaya Family Murder Case, but he was bombarded with criticism from viewers and had to apologise.
31Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:38:43.39ID:g9L4lzNx0
I mean, living at a murder scene and claiming there are ghosts is a bit too much, isn’t it?

I’m disgusted by that, I wonder where they’ve thrown away their ethics.
33Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:40:16.72ID:fWJPPUvd0
Kitano Makoto’s “Don’t go there” is also crazy.
34Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:40:26.53ID:qm2fdKf90
There are too many people who think that if it’s YouTube but not TV, they have the freedom to do whatever they want (which is true), but if they overdo it, there will definitely be consequences.
36Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:41:26.92ID:YlpC8/rv0
That would make the family angry.
37Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:41:35.52ID:vD8W2hpa0
When I think about the family members who died, it makes me sad that they are treated like they are still at the scene of the crime, never to rest in peace.
39Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:42:25.04ID:LKwFCod40
Honestly, I feel like I’ve run into a tough family member. The fact that places like this are haunted, with suicides and murders happening here, has been around since the Showa era, including on TV and in magazines. If they were to do it with an airplane crash or the war zone of Okinawa, there would be complaints that it’s insensitive, and in the double standards community, so I guess the ghost stories have reached their limit in this day and age.
40Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:42:40.07ID:tXfFHH9O0

No, I would say 👻.
41Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:43:28.54ID:rmBMyQ1d0
I don’t think I need to go into detail here, but I think you can understand this, but imagine if one of your relatives was murdered and a YouTuber was making fun of the scene, how would you feel?

46Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:45:59.58ID:/YOU+ONd0
Is there a ghost in that video?
47Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:46:07.91ID:cB0J2ZcM0
Was it a property that could identify the deceased?
That’s stupid.
49Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:46:13.25ID:GSDcb2aP0
What do you mean when you say it’s an accident property?
51Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:46:51.91ID:FVimnSEI0
I’m going to live in a haunted house lol
You’re making fun of people too much lol
It’s because there are idiots who watch it, you guys.
55Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:48:13.13ID:dyVMZH3v0
Why did the family say this to YouTuber “Chouki Taro”? Wouldn’t it be better to say this directly to Tanishii or Shochiku?
60Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:49:53.95ID:mpndMX/Z0

It seems they’ve already told them
But it was ignored by Matsubara Tanishii and Shochiku.
57Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:48:53.20ID:H8zLUCfC0
I think it’s about time for the “Don’t go there” policy to end.
61Anonymous @I’m sorry.Dec. 9, 2024 (Mon) 17:49:55.98ID:bb00lJBQ0
I guess it’s understandable that people would think that a real deceased person was treated like a cursed spirit in Jujutsu Kaisen.
