Sweden and Finland issue pamphlets urging citizens to stock up on diapers, medicines in preparation for war (CNN) As NATO strengthens its defenses in the wake of the conflict in Ukraine, Sweden and Finland issued pamphlets on Tuesday urging citizens to stock up on food, medicines and other supplies to survive war. According to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the pamphlet “What to do in the event of a crisis or war” will be distributed to all 5 million households over a two-week period starting on the 18th. >>1 I wonder if China will finally launch a surprise invasion of Taiwan around 2025-2026? The price of steel is rising, and for some reason Nippon Steel is in a national dispute over its acquisition of US Steel.
>>1 It is laughable that Europe, which has been invading Russia since the Northern Crusades, through the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, France’s Napoleon, and Germany’s Hitler, is now pretending to be the victim.
If they were to hand out these things, Japanese people would panic and stock up on them at Don Quijote and drug stores, but I wonder if people over there would just stay calm and just go, “Ah yeah yeah?”
>>5 From Japan’s perspective, it seems like a Russia vs. NATO situation is unlikely to happen in this situation, but they’re preparing for war, so it’s a bit of a different level of resolve. It seems like Russia is also operating under the assumption that NATO could show up at any time.
Finland has a history of being invaded and having its territory seized by the Soviet Union, and since it shares a long border with Russia, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is no exception.
>>10 Japan has also lost Sakhalin and the Northern Territories, land where Jomon pottery has been excavated and where Japanese people have lived for over 10,000 years, to Russia.
Apparently there have been a series of undersea cable cuts, and the area is apparently a tax haven with many data centers run by American big tech companies.
Japan is plagued by natural disasters and every day is a state of emergency. Even though we’re busy here, we also have to prepare for North Korea, Russia, China, and South Korea, so it’s hard mode.
It’s about time that NATO trained Ukrainian soldiers start bombing Russia. Ukrainian drones alone won’t even get you heard. All the Russians are laughing at them and making fun of them.
Defending itself against Russia is a huge burden for the EU, and it is not realistic for one country to deal with a military superpower like Russia on its own. Therefore, the only option is for almost the entire EU to confront Russia within the framework of NATO.
>>39 Gun distribution, no bullets (wartime rationing) Swiss method, good seagull If bullets were distributed as well, mass shootings would happen everywhere in modern Japan.
The list of countries where ministers, military and government officials have said that “war may actually break out” includes the UK (Army Chief of Staff General Roland Walker, former Minister of Defense), Sweden (Army Commander-in-Chief General Michael Büden, January 10th this year), Germany, Finland, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Taiwan, and China (Xi Jinping orders preparations for war).
>>44 It’s not being reported much in Japan, but Taiwan is now seriously strengthening its defenses. ” = “It’s not easy to take it down” so unless China goes crazy and explodes, there won’t be a war. They’ve even leaked information about a counterattack plan, claiming that two missiles could cut off Beijing’s water supply, which is holding us back. What China wants is to win, so they probably wouldn’t normally do it until they are sure they can win.
This is what it means to join NATO and exercise the right of collective self-defense. We will just get caught up in other countries’ wars. These military game-brained, child-loving, uncle-childish, nerdy, introverted net-uyos try to console themselves for being pathetic and weak, by embellishing themselves with strong things, identifying with them, and clinging to military power to make themselves appear strong, but if war comes they should be prepared to be drafted, sent to the front lines, turned into a beehive, or blown up to pieces until all five of them are dead. There is no reset button in real war.
>>49 It’s other NATO countries that will get caught up in other countries’ wars, right? They’ll have to fight for Sweden and Finland, so it’s only beneficial for countries on the front lines against Russia.
>>49>>66 It’s more dangerous to leave the alliance and become isolated because you’ll get caught up in it. That’s the basic idea in Europe. “If you gather in a group you won’t be attacked” is a phenomenon that is often seen in nature, so animals naturally gather in groups. However, if they are “too weak even when they gather in groups” and “the attacker is too strong”, then even if they gather in groups it is only “slightly better”.
