SEOUL (Reuters) – At least 28 people were killed when a passenger plane skidded off the runway and burst into flames while landing at Muan International Airport in southern South Korea on the morning of the 29th, Yonhap News Agency reported. The plane was a Jeju Air flight from Thailand with 175 passengers and six crew members on board. Officials said there were two survivors and rescue efforts were ongoing. Authorities could not confirm the deaths of 28 people. Local media footage showed the plane making a belly landing and crashing into a wall at the end of the runway, engulfed in smoke and flames. The Korean pilots who appear in Mayday are usually the ones who have lacked skill or made piloting errors. He seemed like an excellent pilot in the episode where the plane was shot down by the Soviets, but the show ultimately pointed out that he had made a mistake in judgment.
