[Luffy Gang Incident] “I shouldn’t have given in to the temptation of money” – Former university student regrets taking part in illegal part-time job. Former university student, aged 19 at the time, sentenced to 23 years in prison.
“If only I had resisted the temptation of money…” The then 19-year-old college student accepted an invitation to do an “illegal part-time job” and got into robbery. [Exclusive video] This is real… The Metropolitan Police Department’s obsession with the investigation calendar covering the entire wall of the “Luffy Incident” investigation headquarters… Of the series of robberies committed by leaders calling themselves “Luffy” and others that occurred one after another across the country, the incident in Komae City, Tokyo, was the only one in which the victim died. Why did a 90-year-old woman have to be killed? During the trial, it was revealed that the perpetrator had simply applied for the “illegal part-time job” and then participated in the robbery as instructed, leading to the worst possible outcome. ■The perpetrator, a university student at the time, appears in court…the first trial in the Komae incident The first hearing was held on August 21 at the Tachikawa branch of the Tokyo District Court. The defendant, Kazunari Nakanishi (21), appeared in court wearing a black jacket and blue tie. She was slim, wore glasses, and had long bangs that fell over her eyes. In January 2023, Nakanishi and his accomplices broke into a home in Komae City disguised as delivery men, tied the hands of a 90-year-old woman with cable ties, beat her to death with a crowbar, and were charged with robbery resulting in death for stealing her luxury watch and ring. In the Komae City incident, four defendants — Nakanishi, Nagata Rikuto (22), Nomura Hiroyuki (53), and Kato Shingo (25) — have been indicted as “perpetrators,” along with three others as “instructors,” but this is the first time a trial has been held in this case. Defendant Nakanishi was an ordinary 19-year-old university student at the time. Why did he accept the invitation to do an “illegal part-time job” and take part in the robbery? ■Why would an ordinary college student take up a “shady part-time job”? NTV News nnn Nakanishi was born and raised in Ishikawa Prefecture, and began living alone in Tokyo when he went to college. He was apparently an ordinary college student, living off money sent by his parents and earnings from a part-time job. It was a game that led me astray. In August 2022, an older man with whom I exchanged contact information through a game when I was in high school asked me to let him stay at his house because he had nowhere to live. He began living with defendant Kato, with whom he would later commit the crime. Kato began living with Nakanishi on the promise that he would pay half the rent and utility bills, but he never paid for living expenses and even used Nakanishi’s money without permission. As Nakanishi found himself in financial difficulty, in December 2022, Kato introduced him to a person calling himself “sugar” as an intermediary for the “illegal part-time job,” and the two began to communicate via the highly confidential communication app “Telegram.” Shortly thereafter, “sugar” invited me to join him in planning a robbery in Hiroshima. Defendant Nakanishi reportedly declined the invitation this time, but defendant Kato, who lives with him, participated. The robbery was committed by the “Luffy” group at a store and residence in Hiroshima City on December 21, 2022. The incident was widely reported in the news. However, what Nakanishi heard from Kato after the crime differed from what was reported in the media, including the number of perpetrators. I felt like the police wouldn’t find out. ■Detailed crime plan from the commander: “It’s okay to just beat him up right away” January 12, 2023. The commander sent me another invitation via telegram. — Leader “sugar” “We have a project.” “We’re going to have four people.” “We have people with experience. What are you going to do this time?’ The plan was to burgle a house in Komae City. The reward was reportedly explained to be “1 million to 2 million yen.” He was short of money, and right in front of him was the defendant Kato, who had managed to get away with the crime. Defendant Nakanishi decided to accept the invitation. Three days before the Komae incident. A detailed plan was sent to a Telegram chat group containing the commander and the perpetrator from another commander who called himself “kim.” Source below Image ■ Nakanishi, who was sentenced to 23 years in prison for “selfish crimes aimed at high rewards”
>>1 In January 2023, Nakanishi and his accomplices broke into a house in Komae City disguised as delivery men, tied the hands of a 90-year-old woman with cable ties, beat her to death with a crowbar, and were charged with robbery resulting in death for stealing her luxury watch and ring. I think this should basically be punishable by death.
I feel a little sorry for them. Most people have their parents or grandparents as a second wallet and can avoid being forced into such a predicament, but I guess they come from poor families who have to neglect their studies and work part-time.
>>16 People don’t usually think about committing crimes because they don’t have money. In fact, it’s a vulgar statement made simply to look down on people who don’t have money.
He came to Tokyo from the countryside with excitement, but after just six months he was sentenced to 23 years in prison. Doesn’t that mean he barely experienced Tokyo?
It’s an age where even professional smacks are avoided, but these idiots don’t even know that, and to go as far as to commit murder, they’re really underestimating the Japanese police lol.
I can understand if someone like Invincible would take the bait, but there must really be a lot of stupid universities out there that would make young college students waste their lives on something like this.
