This was learned through interviews with people involved in the investigation. According to investigators, the man is suspected of taking secret photos up a woman’s skirt with his smartphone at a shopping center in the prefecture around October last year, and then posting the images on social media and providing them to multiple people. The photos were posted to a social networking group attended by voyeurism enthusiasts, and the images were available to be downloaded freely. The man reportedly described himself as a “voyeur master” and an “S-class voyeur” in the profile section of his social media account. The smartphone seized by the prefectural police was said to have contained about 1,000 still images and videos believed to have been taken secretly by the man, and they plan to investigate whether he has committed any other crimes.
