A man who was the leader of a group of men involved in the theft of 172 luxury Rolex watches from a delivery vehicle has been arrested. The suspect arrested on suspicion of theft is Toru Murata (52), a self-proclaimed part-time worker with an unknown address. According to police, Murata is suspected of stealing a vehicle delivering 172 luxury Rolex watches (worth 280 million yen) in Chuo Ward, Osaka City in May of this year. Murata is believed to be the leader of the group, and was seen on security cameras near the scene giving instructions to the other perpetrators. Murata was on a public wanted list, but he called Niigata Prefectural Police Headquarters just before 8:00 p.m. yesterday and said he wanted to turn himself in. He was then arrested by the Niigata Prefectural Police just after 10:30 p.m. Police are continuing their investigation, believing there was someone who gave instructions to Murata. tbs news dig
