A Vietnamese man was arrested for counterfeiting more than 50 cards, including My Number cards, for the purpose of having others use them. The man received instructions via social media. Nguyen Cong Anh (42), a Vietnamese national from Oizumi Town, Gunma Prefecture, is suspected of forging more than 50 My Number cards and residence cards at his home in November for the purpose of having others use them. According to police, Nguyen is believed to have received instructions over social media to counterfeit the cards and mailed them to those who instructed him to receive payment. More than 200 items were seized from Nguyen’s home, including laminated film bearing the Ministry of Justice watermark. Police have not revealed whether Nguyen has admitted to the crimes, and are currently investigating the chain of command and methods of the organization as they believe that Nguyen received instructions from it. Nguyen’s crimes have become increasingly sophisticated, starting with the theft of agricultural products, then special fraud, and finally the forgery of My Number cards.
The accuracy of the forgery and whether it can actually be used are questionable lol. Still, the fact that it was forged is important to those opposed to Minority Number. The background is obvious lol.
>>34 If you want to use it as an insurance card, you have to read the IC chip, so a card that only copies the side won’t work. Traditional insurance cards are a breeding ground for fraud.
>>34 When you use it as a health insurance card, you have to swipe it through the machine, so a fake card won’t work and you’ll be found out so it’s easy for people to abuse it.
It seems that Chinese fake brands are often better made than the real thing, so ordinary people would like to see honest work done without skimping on unnecessary expenses.
