Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. announced that a 78-year-old employee of an insurance agency in Niigata Prefecture is suspected of forging insurance policies and fraudulently receiving approximately 80 million yen. According to Sompo Japan Insurance, a 78-year-old female employee at an insurance agency in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, had fraudulently received a total of approximately 80 million yen in insurance premiums from 23 customers since 2002 by forging insurance policies. The employee in question resigned from the agency in August of this year, before the fraud was discovered, and his successor only discovered the fraud after receiving a complaint from a customer. Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. is consulting with the police and is responding individually to affected customers, commenting, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused.” Meanwhile, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, a major non-life insurance company, also revealed on November 29 that a 46-year-old agency employee had defrauded more than 16 million yen in insurance premiums, following a string of fraudulent acts by agency employees. nhk news web December 16, 2024 21:45.

It’s always been bad, but they’ve been handling it secretly, and recently they’ve started making it public, I think.

It would be best to shut down all the Jap banks and Jap insurance companies at once. I think they’re the ones leaking information about the illegal part-time robberies. Considering this mess, it’s no wonder people are suspicious.
