Heavy rain warning for Yamagata Two police officers in their 20s reported that their patrol car had been swept away in Shinjo City, but were unable to be contacted and their whereabouts are unknown.
In Shinjo City, Yamagata Prefecture, where a special heavy rain warning has been issued, a patrol car has been swept away and a police officer in his 20s is missing. According to the police, on the night of the 25th, a patrol car was swept away near Fukudayama Bridge in Hongokai, Shinjo City, while heading to the scene in response to a rescue request from a member of the public. The patrol car was carrying a male sergeant in his 20s from Shinjo Police Station and a male constable, also in his 20s, and at 11:43 pm the sergeant himself called 110 to report that he had been swept away. The two police officers have not been able to be contacted and their whereabouts are unknown. The Nitta River flows near the site and was flooded. In addition, landslides and other incidents have occurred nearby, making it difficult to get close to the scene, and a search has not yet begun. Police plan to carry out the search after removing the soil and debris. Released on Friday, July 26th at 3:34.
Police officers are being swept away too, wow. Even if it’s a mission, cars are weak in water. Don’t go into areas with 20cm of water. Boats are needed, at 30cm, cars will be submerged and won’t run, so you shouldn’t use cars.
According to the fire department, a report was received at around 11:30 p.m. on the 25th that “people were trapped in a car” in Fukuda, Shinjo City, Yamagata Prefecture. Firefighters rushed to the scene, rescued the two men who were on top of the submerged car, and took them to hospital. One of them is suspected to have hypothermia, but both are said to be in good health. I wonder if they had time to go and rescue this person.
