Typhoon No. 5 “Maria” formed Typhoon No. 5 “Maria” formed south of Chichijima at 3 a.m. on the 8th (Thursday). The central pressure is 996hpa, the maximum wind speed near the center is 18m/s, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 25m/s. Typhoon No. 5 is expected to move northward while developing slightly near the Ogasawara Islands, and then slowly move north to the east of Japan after Friday the 9th. Even if the typhoon takes a course away from Honshu, atmospheric conditions will become unstable due to the influence of warm, humid air flowing in from the typhoon’s surrounding areas. There is a risk of localized heavy rain, so it is necessary to pay close attention to the typhoon’s future movements. The name of the typhoon, “Maria,” was given by the United States and is derived from a woman’s name. The Typhoon Committee (which has 14 member countries, including Japan) prescribes 140 names for typhoons, which are then given in the order in which they occur. The 140 names are used in sequence (starting with the first name after the 140th), but if a typhoon causes major damage, the name may be changed at the request of member countries so that it will not be used for future typhoons. Heavy rain in Kanto again. The heat is always trapped inside and no air can escape. I wonder how they managed to build a city covered in concrete and asphalt.
People in Hokkaido have been doing a lot of bad things lately, so Mary is going to punish you, Asahikawa.

I was driving around Tokyo last night at around 10pm and it was the first time I’d ever experienced such heavy rain. I couldn’t see anything in front of me and it was terrifying.
It hasn’t rained at all since the rainy season ended where I live. It seems to be raining nearby, but the rainclouds seem to avoid specific areas. If I don’t water the trees in my garden, they’ll die.
