According to preliminary vital statistics released by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the 30th, the number of babies born (births) in the first half of 2024 (January to June) was 350,740, a decrease of 5.7% from the same period last year. The preliminary figures include foreigners. If the declining birthrate trend continues, the number of births for the year, excluding foreigners, could fall below 700,000 for the first time. It would be quicker to come to Tokyo than to try to improve the countryside. It would be quicker to emigrate to a more fortunate country than to try to improve Japan. Either way, Japan’s future is bleak.
There are various theories as to why Okinawa has a high birth rate, but some say it is due to the lingering Showa-era atmosphere of raising children as a society, and the lingering Showa-era atmosphere of giving birth until the baby is a boy. However, this custom has fallen into disuse, and both the birth rate and the number of births have plummeted. Incidentally, Okinawa has the highest birth rate and second highest marriage rate, but it also has the highest divorce rate, and the highest rate of lifelong unmarried men and fifth highest for women.
>>24 The 6 o’clock news aired it as the second biggest news item after the typhoon. But it’s going to continue to be the lowest number ever every year, so it’s obvious that flash news is enough.
As expected, the weak yen has caused birth rates to plummet. Any half-hearted measures to combat the declining birthrate will only ruin the situation as they will increase the cost of living even more.
There’s no way it will increase in this situation. Real wages have been down for 26 consecutive months (the longest period on record), but stopped in June due to the impact of the flat-rate tax cut. Number of corporate bankruptcies has increased for 25 consecutive months. Number of companies “suspended or dissolved” nationwide has increased 10% year-on-year (59,105 cases). Personal consumption has been down for four consecutive quarters (first time in 15 years since the Lehman Shock). Consumer spending has been down for 13 consecutive months. Export volume has been down for five consecutive months. Number of applications for welfare benefits is at an all-time high. Engel coefficient is at an all-time high. Birth rate has declined for eight consecutive years.
>>33 That’s what I mean No matter how much money we give, it’s meaningless We need continuous assistance so that married couples can live a stable life In that sense, lifetime employment, seniority-based wages, and the full-time housewife system were the best measures to combat unmarried people and the declining birthrate.
It’s accelerating and accelerating. Japan will be completely finished in 2-3 years. Everybody’s gonna die soon. The incompetence and lack of action of politicians and the Emperor is terrible lol.
