In a post criticizing Gaza remarks made by the representative committee member of the Confederation of Atomic Bomb Victims Organizations, the Israeli ambassador to Japan said, “Comparing Gaza to Japan 80 years ago is inappropriate and unfounded.”
Israeli Ambassador to Japan criticizes Gaza remarks by Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Victims Organizations representative committee member in Twitter post | Mainichi Shimbun 2024/10/13 21:07 On the 13th, Israeli Ambassador to Japan Gilad Cohen criticized the remarks made by Tomoyuki Mimaki, representative committee member of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Victims Organizations (Nihon Hidankyo), who was announced as a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, as “inappropriate.” Immediately after the award announcement on the 11th, Minomaki said, “The sight of a bleeding baby being held in the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian territories is reminiscent of what happened in Japan 80 years ago.” The piece recalls the children who became victims of war in Japan during World War II, and also expresses concern for the situation of children in Gaza as Israel continues to invade. In response, Cohen posted his congratulations on the award, but also criticized the comparison between Gaza and Japan 80 years ago as “inappropriate and unfounded.” The group claimed that Hamas, the Islamic organization that controls Gaza, is “committing serious crimes against humanity,” including targeting Israeli civilians. >>1 I think Israel has gone too far I want Hamas to return the Israelis they kidnapped quickly Also, I saw on TV that when people in the Gaza Strip were asked recently, nearly 70% of them said that Hamas’ surprise attack was wrong I think that in the early days, there would have been more people who thought it was right That means Israel’s counterattack was too much From an outsider’s perspective, I think it would be good if there was a ceasefire in the Middle East, Russia, and Ukraine.
>>1 Rather, we should talk about how Hamas is using civilians as human shields. I don’t know if that’s what you’re saying, but the media is just cutting it out.
Maybe Chiune Sugihara was acting in the wrong way It’s not easy to see through someone’s true nature when they pretend to be pitiful Soka Gakkai lol They really do a good job of deceiving people Religious scum are unscientific and liars.
>>13 Israel: Victims were given generous protection, and once they gained power, they started to monitor (postwar to present) Koreans in Japan: They pretended to be victims, were given generous protection, and once they gained power, they started to monitor Japanese people (postwar to present) The only difference is whether it was on a global scale or within Japan.
I guess they thought it would be influential because it’s a victims’ group that won a Nobel Prize, but if they hadn’t won it they would have just ignored it. The Nobel Prize is amazing after all.
It has similarities to the scenes where a man picks a fight with an opponent that has overwhelming military power and ends up suffering a terrible experience.
>>30 For the time being, the former Imperial Japanese Army was operating on the assumption that it could hold its own with the US for up to six months. The problem was that public opinion grew, the military got on board, and things got out of hand. There are no “what ifs” in history, but in reality, if Japan had taken diplomatic steps toward peace at the time when it had rendered the US Navy virtually dysfunctional, it’s possible that this is what would have happened, so the former Japanese military was far more rational than Hamas is today.
>>56 There’s no doubt that Zionists are a cult. Even if it’s a cult, if you don’t understand their logic and start preaching about peace in a pay-per-click manner, you’re going to get punched in the face.
