Hokkaido Hunters’ Association considers informing all 71 branches to refuse to exterminate brown bears following defeat in lawsuit to have hunting rifle license revoked
It was learned on the 13th that the Hokkaido Hunters’ Association (Sapporo) is making final adjustments to notify all 71 branches not to comply with requests from local governments to exterminate brown bears in principle. The move comes in response to a hunter’s loss in October in an appeal against a ruling he had made to overturn his gun license, which was revoked because there was a risk that bullets fired during an extermination at the request of Sunagawa City would hit a building, and is also intended to throw a wrench into the way extermination is left to the private sector. Taking into account the opinions of each branch, a formal decision will be made at a board meeting to be held later this year.

Even if this request were made, Hokkaido is a vast place and people are unlikely to be united.

There are hunters who aren’t members of the Hunters’ Association, so they might ask them.

So it’s up to local government officials to get the license.

No, no,
Rather than that, they should make it mandatory for the police, prosecutors, and judges to exterminate them.

There’s not enough people to deal with the hassle of getting a license and having it revoked every time you shoot.

What’s funny is that the court is talking about the possibility of a ricochet hitting a building, but they don’t care about the possibility of a bear attacking someone, lol.

>>16 It’s out of place to blame the judge. It’s not the judge who prosecutes. Judges simply issue rulings on cases that have been brought before them and in accordance with the law. If you’re going to hate someone, blame it on the people who prosecuted them lol.

It’s no longer worth it unless you’re in an area that gives you a lot of attendance allowances, so I guess now is the time to quit.

Instead of relying on volunteer hunters, local governments should do it. Health centers or police could do it too.

It’s clearly wrong that people are being asked to do something as a hobby, not as a job, at a low cost, and risking their lives in a volunteer spirit, yet making even the smallest mistake results in them being treated as if they are committing a crime.

so the town hall can do it too.

There was a possibility of a ricochet. I mean, if they come down from the village and judge it to be dangerous, then that’s already within the realm of possibility, so it’s not possible.

I guess the only option left is for prefectural police, prosecutors, and courts to set up specialized departments.
