Rieko Nakagawa, a children’s author known for the picture book series “Guri to Gura,” which features twin field mice, passed away on the 14th from old age. He was 89 years old. Her representative picture book, “Gurigura,” gained popularity for its friendly story about a field mouse who loves to eat and cook and his fellow animals, as well as the adorable illustrations by her younger sister, Yuriko Yamawaki (née Omura).
