Mobile Phones Refurbished smartphone market Demand concentrated in Japan for small models “iPhone SE” tops sales chart, popular for its cheap and small size
Back Market, which trades refurbished smartphones both domestically and internationally, this month released its sales rankings by region for the first half of 2024 (January 1 to June 30). In the Japanese market, the iPhone SE (2020) 64GB took the top spot, while in the United States and Europe, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 took the top spots. Refurbished products are so-called refurbished products, which are electronic devices collected as used goods that have been inspected and serviced by experts and confirmed to be in working order in all functions. Back Market, the survey’s main operator, is a global company that handles these refurbished products in 18 countries around the world, including Asia, Europe, and the United States, including Japan. According to the company, the Japanese market is characterized by a noticeable increase in demand for small models, as evidenced by the small and relatively inexpensive “iPhone SE (2020)” taking the top spot, the iPhone 13 mini ranking in fourth place, and the iPhone 12 mini ranking in seventh place. The company analyzes that the popularity of small smartphones in the second-hand market is due to the fact that no new compact models have been released since the iPhone 13 mini was discontinued in September 2023. In addition, the company predicts that demand for cheaper “SE” and “mini” models will increase further in the future as iPhone prices continue to rise due to the weak yen and strong dollar. The refurbished iPhone SE sold by the company is very inexpensive, starting at 16,800 yen (new price 49,800 yen), and has received reviews such as “It’s so clean that I was surprised that I wouldn’t have known it was new. I was prepared for some scratches, but it exceeded my expectations and I’m very satisfied.” Meanwhile, in the US market, the Galaxy S21 5G ranked 5th, and there was a certain demand for Android devices, while in the European market, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 dominated the top spots, with no small models ranked in either. *For more information, please see the source below. 7/17 (Wed) 15:15 Otaku Research Institute
I wonder if I’ll still be using the 20,000-30,000 yen phone I had back then with MNP? I’ve stopped buying phones now though, as I’ve saved up some spare ones.
It’s a cheap Chinese phone, but I’m not having any trouble with it. I’m a bit rough with things, so it’s better to buy something that’s easy to replace. Even though I have my current phone in a case, the back is cracked. And no matter how many times I replace the protective glass, it still cracks when I drop it.
This marks the fourth consecutive quarter of decline in “personal consumption,” the first time since four consecutive quarters of declines from 2008 to 2009, just before and after the Lehman shock.
7 inches is probably the upper limit for what even men can normally use, and within that range, a larger screen is more convenient and easier to see, so most models are probably around 6.5 to 7 inches, but women tend to have small hands…

Foreigners have big fingers and like to type easily, so they get bigger.
I bought a new one because the battery in my previous phone died But I dropped it and cracked the screen, so I sent it in for repairs And the scratches on the side were also repaired, so I was lucky… It’s cheap, easy to use, and tough, which is good The iPhone 5s and iPhone 6s I used a long time ago are still unbroken I guess that’s what it means I don’t have an SE though
