With resignations increasing during the year-end period, Momuri resignation service sees a surge in requests, including 30+ bookings for after New Year.
Momuri, a resignation agent service, is being inundated with requests from people looking to quit their jobs at the end of the year. The service allows employees to communicate their wishes to resign to their employer on their behalf, and on the 23rd it was used over 130 times. Shinji Tanimoto, president of Albatross (Minato Ward, Tokyo), which operates the service, said, “We have already received more than 30 reservations for the New Year,” and appealed, “I want black companies to realize that if they had talked to their employees, they could have discouraged them from using these resignation proxy services and even prevented them from quitting in the first place.” On the 10th, the company posted on its official Momuri x (formerly Twitter) account, “We’ve compiled a list of unbelievable reasons for resignations.” The list includes harassment such as six hours of verbal abuse and being accused of being “spoiled” when suffering from period pain or heat stroke. These acts include those that could be considered criminal, such as suggesting “Do you want to be a sugar baby?”, being beaten until one’s face was bruised, and forcing one’s body to drink alcohol and then sexually assaulting another. “We are softening the language in order to make it public, but there are even worse cases,” Tanimoto said. “We don’t check everything, but we have conveyed it to the company, so it’s not just the client saying things that are convenient for them,” he emphasized. “The fact that there are so many serious cases shows that the problem of employees quitting jobs at black companies is becoming more serious,” he said. Many of the clients have lost the will to file a complaint with the police or the Labor Standards Inspection Office, and so they give up on gathering evidence and preparing for court, instead turning to the services of a resignation agent. President Tanimoto analyzes, “From my experience, 20% of companies are unreasonable, 20% of cases seem to be the problem with the client, and 60% are cases where both parties are at fault.” Vicious cycle of talent outflow Generally, job changes tend to increase at the end of December or March, which are the turning points of the year or fiscal year. The number of people using resignation proxy services increases from late December onwards, when employees receive their winter bonuses, and increases further towards the end of the fiscal year in March of the following year, peaking in April and May, just after new graduates join the company. Momuri publishes its daily results, with around 50 to 130 cases reported each day in the latter half of December. Of these, more than 30 requests are coming from full-time employees every day. President Tanimoto himself has experienced harsh working conditions during his time as a company employee. Based on this experience, Momuri launched its service in 2022. By providing close support to its users, the company now handles 20,000 requests per year. President Tanimoto says, “We had originally intended for users to be regular employees, part-time workers, and other casual employees who were unable to express their intention to resign on their own, but recently we’ve seen an increase in managers using the service.” The more difficult it is to quit a company, the more likely it is to try to persuade employees to stay, and the more likely it is that they will use agents to assist with resignation. This will result in a vicious cycle of losing talent, which will then lead to even stricter measures to retain employees due to labor shortages. Resignation data to reduce turnover rate The company has also launched “momuri+,” a service that discloses data accumulated in momuri to workers and companies. Companies can use resignation data to understand what employees want from their companies, which can lead to lower turnover rates. Employees can also find out whether their prospective employer is a “white company” that does not use agents for resignation. President Tanimoto said, “Companies only say good things when recruiting. Workers also highlight their strengths during interviews. There are some aspects where it’s mutual, so unless people can come to understand each other’s weaknesses, unhappy resignations will continue,” he advises. No matter how you look at it, work, especially employee labor, is bad for the mind and body, it is definitely harmful to the mind and body, and it definitely shortens one’s lifespan.
You have to pay for your own medical check-up before joining the company, you have to write your resume by hand, you’re not even allowed to talk about overtime pay, and so on. There are still companies like that these days. It’s a culture shock.
It seems like this is a new way for lawyers to earn a living 🤣 Just like with overpayments, lawyers are just lending their names and the actual work is handled by unqualified ordinary people.
Roman slaves only worked 4 hours a day, and studies have shown that working more than 30 hours a week is bad for your mental health. Modern humans are worse than slaves.

– Resignation must be notified at least three months in advance – Resignation must be done after multiple interviews with your direct supervisor and executives and permission has been obtained – Resignation notice must be submitted on a form specified by the company – Resignation proxy services are not permitted – Paid leave use or purchase upon resignation is not permitted – Resignation documents must be picked up by the employee in person (not sent by mail) – Resignation will be postponed if the resigning employee’s work handover is not completed by the time of resignation – New graduates must bring in a replacement employee if they resign within six months These are clearly stated in the work rules, so no one has resigned.
They talk about increasing the mobility of human resources, but they tell young people not to quit, but in reality they just want to lay off middle-aged and older people.
Two employees quit our store because of customer harassment. If you’re going to complain, don’t come back. Is the customer’s mood really that important?
– Being solicited to find a sugar daddy – Being beaten until your face is swollen – Sexual assault at a drinking party It’s good that Momuri exists for these people But actually, if this is true, it’s completely unreasonable to even consider Momuri.
