Entertainment Actress Manami Konishi doesn’t greet her ad but smiles at the producer... Her freelance career is also being talked about as a “bad reputation” in the industry
Konishi Manami didn’t greet the ad, she only smiled at the producer… her freelance career is also a “bad reputation” whispered about in the industry.
“Once again, everyone. Thank you so much for all your warm and kind words. Not only as an actor, but as a person and a woman, I want to continue to be healthy and enjoy change flexibly, while continuing to learn, keep trying, and work hard every day.”
On July 11th, actress Konishi Manami (45) updated her Instagram. Two days earlier, she had announced that she had left her agency Elements and become independent, and she wrote about her gratitude for the response to the post and her future plans.
Konishi made her acting debut in 1998 in the stage play “Netorare Sousuke”. In 2001, just three years after her debut, she played the role of the “love rival” of the main character Kuninaka Ryoko (45) in the NHK morning drama “Churasan”. From that year until 2007, she also appeared regularly on the popular variety show “Cocoriko Miracle Type” (Fuji TV), and was active as a comedienne. A production staff member who knew Konishi at the time revealed the following.
“On the set of a drama, the director gave her acting instructions saying, ’I want you to do it more like this,’ but Konishi was reluctant to accept the advice, saying, ’But…’ and ’No, that’s…’ I think she was serious about her work and had a strong commitment to her acting, but she was also strict with staff and managers, and her difficult personality may have influenced the fact that she has been to five agencies so far.”
The last agency Konishi belonged to was a music agency with many musicians. In 2018, she took on the challenge of writing all the lyrics and composing the songs on her first major album, “Here We Go,” produced by singer Kreva (48). She also performed rap, and the gap between her acting and her acting became a hot topic. However, her music activities have also come to a halt since the release of her album “Cure” in 2020. “She had always wanted to pursue a music career, and she seemed very enthusiastic when she first started, but then suddenly there was no news…” (Production staff member, as mentioned above) The production staff member continues that Konishi is originally a person who easily gets bored. “Konishi is very curious, and will boldly try anything that interests her, but it’s hard to continue after that. When we worked together in the past, I heard that she was into chicken dishes, and when I brought up the topic, she responded with something like, ’Not really these days…’ In the past, she used to post recipes for homemade smoothies on Instagram, but that only lasted three posts. She must be the type of person who gets excited easily and loses interest quickly.” Fans also call Konishi “Konitan,” and she is loved as a soothing actress, but the production staff member says that she has a different side to the pure and innocent image that the public has of her. “I got the impression that she would change her attitude depending on the person, such as not saying hello to the lower level ADs but greeting the producers with a smile. Many staff members took that attitude to be rude, so I’m worried about whether she will be able to continue as a freelancer.”
In an interview with Asahi Shimbun Digital, Konishi described her personality as “not caring about what other people think” and “curious, easily scared but proactive, not afraid of failure” (November 25, 2020).
Now that she is freelance, it may become important for her to care about what other people think and listen to other people’s opinions in order to make the most of her curiosity and initiative.
>>19 Because if they stay in the industry and become important, they’re the ones who get the work done. Anyone who was rude to them will be left out in the cold.
>>19 The TV station’s ads will be promoted in the future, but the ads from the program production company are just trash part-timers, so it doesn’t matter.
Shukan Josei and Josei Jishin have published bashing articles one after another, will the remaining women’s magazine, Seven, also write something negative about them?
