The youngest victim is an 8-year-old, with elementary school students also becoming victims of sexual assaults through online games...scammers approaching people posing as women through “voice chat.”
※2024/09/14 05:00 Yomiuri Shimbun National Police Agency conducts first survey on measures taken by operating companies There has been a series of cases of children becoming involved in sex crimes triggered by interactions in online games. The number of victims among elementary school students has been increasing in particular, so the National Police Agency plans to conduct its first-ever investigation into the mechanics of the game and the safety measures taken by the game operators in order to prevent further victimization. (Takaaki Murakami) Abusing no identity verification “I want to see you naked from the face down.” A 17-year-old boy from Saitama Prefecture, who was arrested by the Osaka Prefectural Police in February on suspicion of requesting the transmission of sexually explicit videos, made the following proposal to an elementary school girl in Osaka Prefecture whom he met through an online smartphone game. The game had a calling function called “voice chat” that allowed users to talk to each other when their avatars (alter egos) came close to each other. The boy disguised himself as a woman, became close with the girl, and exchanged photos of their faces. He then threatened to expose her face on the internet and demanded that she send him obscene images. The prefectural police investigation also revealed that the boy was suspected of coercing more than 10 junior and senior high school students in Hokkaido and Kanagawa prefectures to send obscene images. When it comes to online games, it is not uncommon for people to enjoy them together and to form teams with people they don’t know. However, there have been a number of cases in which people use other people’s photos and names to pretend to be women or people of the same age in order to close the gap and lure people into their personal social media accounts. According to the National Police Agency, the number of children involved in sex crimes through online games reached 89 nationwide last year, about 1.4 times the 65 cases in 2019, the first statistics to be kept. Of these, 41 were for child pornography-related offenses such as nude photography, 30 for violations of the Youth Protection and Development Ordinance such as lewd acts, 15 for serious crimes such as kidnapping and non-consensual sexual intercourse, and 3 for child prostitution and visitation requests. It’s always been a hotbed of meet-chasers. Even at Monster Hunter PSP meetups about 20 years ago, there were always junior high school girls flocking around.
>>7 This is so true Sexual offenders should be shot, but you should never let a child use chat, even if they beg you to do so Or there was a foreign movie that simulated the kind of damage it could cause I just want to see that.
>>9 This kind of assumption is why sex crimes never go away. Adults who want to get involved with other people’s minors. There’s no distinction between men and women, they’re just perverted sex criminals.
>>19 When Yahoo Chat was at its peak, a lot of people would send me their dicks in real time via webcam. Their dicks were jerky because of their slow internet speed.
I’ve been to offline meetups a few times, and it was always just girls who showed up. There were some pretty cute ones, and some older ladies too lol. I’ve never had a guy impersonate me lol. When you talk to them on the phone or through a calling app, you can tell right away if they’re a guy or a girl, they keep talking about their periods lol. There was also a mentally unstable girl who sent me a video of herself completely naked, and there are a lot of crazy girls who play online games, so be careful lol.
“I’m a female college student” – actually a middle-aged pedophile. “I’m a female elementary school student” – actually a boy. And that’s how love can begin.
Ultimately, there is a huge lack of education in internet literacy for both adults and children. Multilevel marketing, religion, illegal part-time jobs, sexual crimes. Crafts. There are a lot of people out there trying to deceive others, so you have to be skeptical of everything you deal with.
It was mostly old men, the rest were either mentally unstable or crazy. That was the trend, but considering the current popularity of the internet, it’s probably not in line with reality.
