Deadline has reported that Jim Mickle, creator of the TV drama “Sweet Tooth,” will be writing and directing the Hollywood live-action version of “Mobile Suit Gundam,” which is being produced by Legendary, the studio behind films such as “Godzilla” and “Pacific Rim.” The film is being co-developed by Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but filming is expected to begin in early 2025. As far as I can tell from watching Gundam on Netflix, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a crappy Gundam. The first thing I can say is, don’t let foreigners design Gundams. They’ve never designed a robot, so they can only make crappy Gundams.
