Weekly Bunshun Editorial Department: It has been learned through an interview with Weekly Bunshun that actress Nozomi Sasaki (36) and her husband, comedian Ken Watanabe (51) of the comedy duo Unjash, had financial troubles with a jewelry craftsman they had commissioned to make earrings and other items. Sasaki and Watanabe got married in 2017. They were a big name couple in the entertainment industry, but after Shukan Bunshun reported on Watanabe’s affair in its June 18, 2020 issue, Watanabe decided to suspend his entertainment activities. She resumed her entertainment activities in February 2022, and in June of this year she appeared on the terrestrial live broadcast of “5ji ni Muchuu!” (Tokyo MX). “His wife, Sasaki, has always been by her husband’s side, and their relationship is rock solid.” (Sports newspaper reporter)
Accusation by a jewelry craftsman who received orders from Sasaki

Amidst all this, financial trouble has come to light over jewelry ordered by his wife, Sasaki. The person who is accusing Sasaki of trouble is Mr. A, a jewelry craftsman who was once asked by Sasaki to make a ring. Following the ring, she has received an order to make accessories for her second child. “Nozomi Sasaki told me, ’It’s something I’ll give to my child in the future, so any budget is fine,’ so I wanted to create a piece that met her wishes.” (Mr. A)
The deadline came and the payment was not made…
Mr. A turned down orders from other customers and focused on making the “birthstone earrings” that Sasaki had requested. However, the payment was not made even when the deadline came, and they urged payment. Then, Sasaki contacted me with the following message. “I’ll have work tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and won’t have time, so I’ll try next week!”
After reading this, Mr. A finally gave up on her. He declared Sasaki to be “disowned” as follows: “The payment deadline has passed, so please make time to pay as soon as possible.”

“Please allow me to decline everything, including production.”

“Do you still have any grudges?” Watanabe’s LINE message read…
Mr. A demanded a total of 660,000 yen, including cancellation fees, and Sasaki apologized. Watanabe apologized, notified him of the payment, and sent the following LINE message to Mr. A. “Is this the end of everything? Are there still lingering grudges?” (sic) Mr. A sighs. “Husbands and wives mistakenly believe that everything will go their way. We have consulted the police about the whole incident and never want to have anything to do with them again.”
Sasaki’s side: “Mr. A suddenly changed” and “We have consulted the police.”
How will the Watanabes respond to the financial troubles? When we sent the questionnaire, Sasaki’s representative responded as follows: “Mr Sasaki recalls that there was no deadline set for the transfer, such as May of this year. Furthermore, Mr. A’s behavior suddenly changed, and I felt very scared by the content of his communication, so even though I did not receive the product, I transferred the money (660,000 yen) through Mr. Sasaki. We are currently consulting with the police.”
What on earth happened? The August 21st issue of “Weekly Bunshun” and the currently being distributed “Weekly Bunshun Online Edition” provide detailed reports on how Sasaki came to order the ring after Watanabe’s affair was discovered, his excuses for the late payment, and the details of the financial troubles. 《Jeweler exposes》Nozomi Sasaki and Ken Watanabe’s birthstone earrings “400,000 yen unpaid scandal”

From the third thread onwards, the amount of people bashing the couple in defence of the craftsman is incredible.
They’re so carried away that they’re going crazy as if it were their own fault.
They change their ID periodically, but the same people never appear at the same time to say the same things, so it must be the same person.
Seriously, when do they even sleep? It feels like that.

I don’t know about this place, but it’s scary because power stones and other stone-related things are often businesses run by people connected to 893.

I wonder if this craftsman is hurt that he couldn’t make a piece of jewelry that Sasaki Nozomi would want right away, and then her husband paid him 660,000 yen as severance pay.

I wonder why.
Maybe they were dazzled by the Watanabe brand, or maybe they didn’t check the wording on the homepage because they thought he was just a normal person in person.
I feel like the thread wasn’t this biased in the early days before Shokunin was exposed.

Looking at the previous thread, it seems normal to suggest something in the same price range as the jewelry the client is wearing. I think for an average young woman who wears accessories worth tens of thousands of yen, they would suggest something in that range.
0050Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 21, 2024 (Wed) 18:48:25.07ID:XiHbfSM80
If you just ask for the approximate size,
we can give you a rough estimate.
A craftsman can also give figures for price differences due to materials.
0052Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 21, 2024 (Wed) 18:49:14.55ID:PHJ7qSn60
Do they want to bash Watanabe again while he’s on the rise? Apparently they made 400 million yen off the Watanabe article, so this is like repaying kindness with insult.
0054Anonymous @I’m sorry.Aug. 21, 2024 (Wed) 18:49:34.95ID:GFX3+YMR0(2/7)
He said it was ok to sell the information because he’s not a customer, and when asked if he’d bought the ring in the past, he replied, “Then I’m a former customer so it’s ok to sell the information.” I think this one point alone makes his statement and idea thousands of times more dangerous than Sasaki Nozomi’s challenge.

For now, the craftsmen’s side has won by a landslide. The reason is that they both keep information about each other through email exchanges, so if Watanabe’s side could refute it, they would have done so already. Watanabe’s side hasn’t made any statement so far, which means they can’t refute it.

He should have become an apprentice to Galeso or Z Lee instead of the jeweler who extorted him for a 660,000 yen cancellation fee and then sold him to Bunshun!!! He has a talent for scandal mongering.
