Hachi-Mitsu Jiro publishes a lengthy statement...He was infected with COVID-19 and was on dialysis → the only option left to stop dialysis was a kidney transplant → his wife had an affair → they divorced → the transplant surgery failed.
Hachimitsu Jiro, a member of the comedy duo Tokyo Dynamite, made a lengthy speech on TV about “how I can no longer perform manzai” and also mentioned the reason for his divorce on the 1st on TV Asahi’s “Listen Up Your Ears!”, in which he made a lengthy speech about “how I can no longer perform manzai.” Hachi-Mitsu Jiro announced on X in April this year that he would be taking a break from manzai comedy, but after an online article said that he was taking a break from entertainment activities altogether, he said, “People who only saw that article thought that and contacted me,” and once again explained that he was “taking a break from manzai comedy.” He said, “I wanted to expose all of my difficult experiences so that people who feel the same way can read them,” and submitted a long message to the program titled “About how I can no longer perform manzai comedy.” Hachi-mitsu Jiro was infected with COVID-19 at the end of 2020 and “was given general anesthesia in the emergency room and slept for eight days,” but “when he woke up, a tube was connected to his neck and he was undergoing dialysis.” He said he was extremely confused that he was undergoing dialysis without being informed of anything, and that he “did not meet the doctor until he was discharged from the hospital, and instead spoke to him via tablet.” The doctor apparently explained to him, “I checked with your wife,” and “When I told her that dialysis was necessary to prolong her life, she said she would request it.” After being discharged from hospital, he began undergoing dialysis three times a week, but he found it “much harder than he expected.” The only way to stop dialysis is a kidney transplant, but his wife said, “I’ll give you mine,” so he vowed to “devote his life to my wife and daughter.” However, he writes that “after a few months, my wife’s behavior began to become strange” and that “she was having an affair.” Toro Salmon’s Kubota, who was reading the text, was shocked and exclaimed, “Huh? Huh?” He said his wife had disappeared from home, and they divorced in November 2021. He said his wife left their daughter behind and he was left to raise her alone. My daughter was only 8 years old at the time. Although she was at an age where she “couldn’t do anything without her mother,” Hachi-mitsu continued to do her best to take care of the housework and childcare while undergoing dialysis. “My ex-wife refused to look after our daughter. I somehow got through it with the help of many people,” he said, looking back. “Before I’m a manzai comedian, I’m a parent first.” “My priority is my children.” “First and foremost, I need to devote all my energy to my daughter, who is still in elementary school. That’s also one of the reasons for the hiatus.” My daughter is now in the sixth grade. He was able to take care of himself and in turn helped his frail father. The book also goes into detail about his time in hospital and the failure of a kidney transplant operation that his mother volunteered to donate, but after reading the text, Kubota commented, “It’s heavy. I had no idea,” he said, shocked. “In one word, I’m really unlucky. But maybe it’s a test…” he groaned, and Westland’s Iguchi Hiroyuki was also shocked, saying “I wonder why they are giving us so many tests.”
>>9 He was cocky when he was healthy, but he boasted about how fat people are popular, and even after he got diabetes he didn’t stop binge eating and drinking, ruining his mother’s feelings for him.
I hope the trespassers and thieves who harassed me die too. Comedy can’t be done during the heavy rains of the Noto Peninsula. I can understand why it’s hard and unmotivating to have a life where no one helps you even when you’re of the right age and you’ve become waste. >>18 I’ve never had a boyfriend. I stabbed my father in 2011? I didn’t go to the hospital because the doctor in charge said I had positive cancer and had been impersonated by someone who used my first name. I guess my father is my boyfriend.
When I looked up who his wife was, it turned out to be Saito Hitomi from Melon Kinenbi, but he divorced her within a year and had an affair with his next wife, a non-celebrity.
I guess the reason he was able to persevere even in this situation was because he had his daughter. I think it would have been harder if his wife had left him and taken his daughter.
>>40 >>32 That was his first wife, and it seems the one who had an affair was his second wife, Mariko. I saw them both on Shinkonsan Irasshai! and she was beautiful.
He woke up in a hospital for dialysis and never met a doctor while he was there. It’s horrifying that something like this could have happened. But as a father, he’s doing a good job raising his daughter alone with a body like that.
