October 12, 2024, 9:11pm TBS’s “King of Conte 2024” (6:30pm), which decides the best comedy duo in Japan, was broadcast on the 12th. The judges’ comments have become a hot topic online. Last year, Downtown’s Matsumoto Hitoshi (61), who is currently on hiatus, was removed from the judges, but this year the seventh champion, Siro Sisonne (46), joined the panel. In addition, the second champion Tokyo 03’s Satoshi Iizuka (51), the fifth champion Baiking’s Eiji Kotouge (48), the fourth champion Robert’s Ryuji Akiyama (46), and the 10th champion Kamaitachi’s Kenji Yamauchi (43) will continue. All of the judges were former champions. The topic of discussion online was the evaluation of a comedy skit by Nippon no Shachou (Tsuji Kohei and Ketsu), a comedy duo that had made it to the finals for five consecutive years. In this comedy skit, Ketsu plays the role of a player who is good at baseball but has a quiet voice, and Tsuji, who plays the role of the coach, makes comments about him. Towards the end of the game, the players were hit over the head with a bat, causing the bat to break. In the end, he ended up with 468 points and did not make it into the top three. After scoring, Tsuji commented, “Well, this is just the judges’ preferences,” which drew laughter in the studio. Kotoge, who awarded the show the highest score of 96 points out of the five judges, commented, “I thought it was funny. I think the opening laugh was the biggest. All the bats were fun,” he commented. Iizuka, who gave the film the lowest score of 92 points out of the five, commented, “In my opinion, the set is designed to be broken…If it’s just as fun, I prefer it if it doesn’t exist.” When asked by MC Masatoshi Hamada for a second comment, Kotoge said, “I’m the opposite of Iizuka-san; I find it funny to see the chairs and other things breaking one after another. He followed up by saying, “They’re going to destroy that one too.’’ After hearing the judges’ comments, Tsuji commented, “Next time, I’ll try it with a real bat and show it to Mr. Iizuka.” On x, “judges’ preferences” became a trending topic. “The judges’ preferences… If you want to get a good score from Iizuka, you have to make a new setting. If you want to get a good score from Akiyama, you have to be funny for no reason. If you want to get a good score from Yamauchi, you have to make another development. The material that the judges approve of is the element of a funny skit. Remember the material from Kuuki Kaidan. It was perfect.” “In recent years, both KOC and M-1 have become like ’the viewers evaluate the judges,’ and it’s disgusting. No matter who does it, they’re probably going to deny the judges’ preferences anyway.” “The judges’ preferences are true, but I can’t laugh at all. “I wonder why Long Coat Daddy, who was so funny with such a high score, and Cotton and Nippon no Shachou, who were so easily eliminated with such low scores, are so easily eliminated. I guess it would be different if my sense of things was so different from the general public’s that it feels like a rigged race, but it seems that’s not the case,” “Tsuji’s words, ’This is just the judges’ preferences,’ say it all,” “Nippon no Shachou was funny but got a low score…Iizuka was too assertive about his preferences and was out of place in the judges’ seat. I wonder what would have happened if Matsu-chan had been there,” and other comments were posted.
If it was Matsumoto I’d give the ones I don’t like 80 points or so. It doesn’t make sense that Matsumoto is allowed to do what he likes but Iizuka is not.
Since the mid-level players are doing it, it won’t be too tough and the Iizuka Grand Prix will be held. The goal for the comedy duo is Tokyo 03. Hahaha.
>>13 There was a time when it became a hot topic that the rankings made by Matsumoto alone were the same as the rankings of all the judges for that episode.
>>15 If 92 points is considered low, then there must be something wrong with the other judges. It would be better if they just fixed the lowest and highest scores for each judge and made them public all at once.
If there was someone like that on the judging panel for the Comedian Grand Prix, especially the one sponsored by the comedian agencies whose shareholders are the TV stations, then the winner would be a low-tier comedian who attends because he wants to be on TV.
People say Tsuji has a good sense of humor, but in this day and age, I think the fact that he talks about baseball so much shows he has no sense of humor.
>>44 Only Bakusho Mondai’s Ota was making fun of them That was the funniest bit Out of all the Yoshimoto people, Ota was the only one who could say that.
This time, all I saw was the preparations for the naked marathon and the rock coming to lift the curse, which was interesting. To be honest, I don’t really care who wins. I think the most interesting one is usually the winner. If not, it was just a close contest.
