Matsumoto Hitoshi has suddenly dropped the lawsuit after claiming it was “groundless” – is this to protect the “big name talent” who has been blacked out?
“This is baseless, so I will fight it.” On January 8th of this year, Downtown’s Matsumoto Hitoshi (61), who had been reported by “Weekly Bunshun” for sexual coercion at a past drinking party, posted the following on his x account, starting the “Matsumoto Hitoshi vs. Bunshun” trial. Matsumoto had filed a lawsuit against the publisher Bungeishunju and others seeking 550 million yen in damages and a correction of the article, but withdrew the lawsuit on the 8th. (Omitted) At the second preparatory hearing scheduled for August 14, Bunshun’s lawyers reportedly submitted a document stating that a famous celebrity had been at the drinking party that is the subject of dispute. ■ Who was the blacked-out “big celebrity”? “Former TV Asahi legal affairs chief Nishiwaki Kosuke, who has seen Bunshun’s evidence documents, has revealed the existence of a new person in Bunshun’s new evidence in ‘Encount’. When one of the two women who accused him of sexual assault visited his hotel room at the invitation of Speedwagon’s Ozawa Kazuhiro, four men, including Matsumoto and Ozawa, were already there, and one of them was listed as a “big name celebrity (●●●●)” with his name blacked out.” (Female weekly magazine reporter) Who on earth could this big name celebrity, who is said to be on the same level as Matsumoto in the entertainment industry hierarchy, has led to many names being floated. “Among the most likely candidates is a big-name talent who has a close relationship with Matsumoto both personally and professionally, and has worked with him before. However, it is not certain whether the big shot attended the drinking party in question. Matsumoto made this decision to avoid further dragging those close to him, including his juniors, into the trial.” (Comedy industry source)

It must be pretty incredible for Matsumoto to make people think that even at the expense of himself lol It seems like he’s narrowing down the target audience lol.
If he was considerate of others, he would have already acted to protect his junior comedians. He’s an extremely selfish person who only thinks about himself.
This is a misguided, inconsistent defense article. Matsumoto’s side has been going through the trial from start to finish with the story that he didn’t have sex with anyone. But if they bring in the blackface, it’ll be like they’re admitting to having a sex party.
To Matsumoto, I commend you for not mentioning my name. You should receive a big present soon. I’m sure you’ll be happy. See you again in the entertainment industry. I wish you the best of luck in your future.
