TV 41-year-old actor who placed 4th in the “100km Marathon” responds to criticism of running under the hot sun, saying, “It’s an insult to people who are trying hard”
Actor Wataru Mori (41) updated his Twitter account by the 23rd. He expressed his personal opinion on the various criticisms of the “100km Survival Marathon” project of the Fuji TV special “FNS 27-Hour TV Japan’s Most Fun School Festival!” in which he ran and placed 4th. Many people on the Internet pointed out the dangers of running under the blazing sun. Mori declared, “By the way, if you look at the online news, you can see some criticism of long-distance marathons in midsummer, but everyone knows that running a marathon in the heat of midsummer is dangerous when they receive the offer.” He then expressed his regret, saying, “That’s why I practice properly, make countermeasures and prepare, and criticizing the project… I feel that it’s an insult to the people who are seriously preparing and working hard to be on that stage, so I feel disappointed.” He further revealed, “This is the same for any project or program. The performers are doing it because they want to show that they are working hard to the limit, even though it’s dangerous, and to cheer up as many people as possible!!” He continued, “If you don’t want to run, then you don’t have to,” and added, “However, running is dangerous, so it’s only natural that you have to prepare accordingly as someone who is being paid. I was incredibly happy to be able to stand on the stage of my dreams!!” He concluded by saying, “I hope that this happiness will lead to someone else’s happiness in the future.” After the race, Mori posted on social media, “I ended up in 4th place, and Tomoko in 6th place (1st place women).” Mori praised Kaneda’s running, saying, “The 100km survival marathon is over!! (Omitted) Tomoko’s final sprint was really cool. I followed the three favorites to win, but in the end I collapsed, but I’m confident that I had more fun and was smiling than any of the other runners.” He continued, “Originally, we had this goal of ’trying to take on the challenge of running 100km,’ and Tomoko and I have been working hard for about 10 years, so no matter what place we came in, I was just grateful to be able to run, and it was like a dream from start to finish.” She continued, “Thank you everyone for all your support! And to the staff who gave my family and I the opportunity to take on this wonderful challenge, to the staff who made the show while taking care of the athletes so they wouldn’t be in any danger, and to everyone who was involved in this marathon, thank you very much. I’ll do my best towards my next goal.” Kaneda and Mori announced their marriage in November 2013. In June 2017, she gave birth to their first child, a girl. On the 20th, Kaneda posted on her x-mail account, “The other day, Kaneda Tomoko and Mori Wataru dissolved our marriage and have decided to continue as a family, although we are no longer registered as a married couple on family register. I apologize for this sudden announcement.”
I don’t care if it’s held in midsummer, but why are only celebrities eligible to participate? I don’t know where the 10 million yen prize money is coming from, but let us participate too.
Well, all TV personalities think that if they die on TV, it’s a martyrdom. That’s Degawa’s spirit.

I’m criticizing those who make it easy for others to do it.

For the 27-hour TV program, the participants run at night and finish the 100km in the morning before the sun comes up. Everyone finishes in the morning and those who can’t keep up with the pace are eliminated. For the 24-hour TV program, the participants run from 10am to 5pm in the heat and for some reason always finish right before the broadcast ends.
There is such thing as wasted effort. A marathon is just a contest of endurance. It’s actually disrespectful to marathon runners to call this a marathon.
