High school student YouTuber Yutabon sues for slander on social media， but the lawsuit is dropped due to a case of mistaken identity．

Yuta Bon (15), a high school student YouTuber, made a “mistake.” At the end of June, Mr. Honma (not his real name), who lives in Tochigi Prefecture, suddenly received a thick piece of mail from the court labeled “special delivery” at his home. The complaint contained the following words and demanded that the defendant 〈pay 258,760 yen〉. Honma had been sued in a civil lawsuit by Yutabon, demanding over 250,000 yen in compensation, including mental anguish. However, the account named (temporary name) does not belong to Mr. Honma, and he has no recollection of writing anything like “brat.” Homma said he had no idea why he was being sued. “I was being billed for 250,000 yen, and my first thought was that it might be a scam in the name of a court. However, since the mail had even been stamped and was to be handed over to me, I thought it was probably genuine and decided to consult with a law firm anyway.”
The defamatory comments against Yutabon that are the subject of this complaint were posted two years ago in October 2022. In response to Yutabon’s reply to a man with no dating experience,
“What?! Even I’ve been on a date, but everyone else went to school and they’ve never even been on a date?! That’s crazy!”, a person with an account named responded as follows: “I wonder if someone will prank or harass this little brat while he’s traveling around Japan? (lol)” Yutabon asked a lawyer to identify . The lawyer discovered that it was Mr. Honma. Why did such a misunderstanding occur?
