MrBeast, the American YouTuber with the most subscribers in the world, posted on X on December 9th that he had spent $14 million (approximately 2.1 billion yen) to build a town in the middle of a vast field. The town that MrBeast revealed is the one he built for the reality show “Beast Games,” which is scheduled to begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, December 19th. The photo posted on x, although it is unclear whether it is genuine, shows a town surrounded on all sides by artificial water bodies and surrounded by fields. Even though he is the world’s number one YouTuber with 335 million subscribers, this photo makes it clear to the public how strange it is that one individual has created a city out of nowhere. The production costs for the show itself are said to exceed $100 million (approximately 15 billion yen). “Beast Game,” created by Mrbeast, is a reality show that will begin streaming on Prime Video in the United States from December 19th (it has not yet been decided whether it will be released in Japan). Prime Video describes the show as “an unconventional competition-style reality show in which 1,000 participants take on challenges that test their physical and mental limits.” It appears that there will be a survival competition among the 1,000 participants, with the winner winning the challenge and receiving a prize of $5 million (approximately 750 million yen). The released trailer shows participants taking on challenges similar to Japan’s “Sasuke” and “Run for Money.” The project, a survival game to win the prize money until only one person remains, is similar to the Korean drama “Squid Game” produced by Netflix (MrBeast also released a video in 2021 in which he recreated “Squid Game” by investing approximately 400 million yen). >>3 There’s a photo in the article. It feels like an institution, like a school or a prison. For a village of that size, 2.1 billion yen would be enough.
>>27 Now that I think about it, he was invited to an MrBeast project as a YouTuber, but he was such a minor character that I wasn’t even sure if he was on screen.
If you’re going to do something like this, why don’t you do a biosphere experiment and broadcast it 24 hours a day? It won’t cost 2 billion and it will contribute to science.
If one person can take the lead and build a city with just 2.1 billion yen, then building a city for women alone is a piece of cake. If you want to continue this, now is the time, women’s rights activists.
