KFC Holdings Japan announced on the 13th that its consolidated financial results for the April-June 2024 period showed net profit of 357 million yen, down 33% from the same period last year. Kentucky Fried Chicken increased the prices of its main products in October 2011, which led to a decrease in customer numbers and a 1.4% decrease in same-store sales. The company is scheduled to be delisted in September, and this will be its final financial results announcement. Sales fell 2% to 23.8 billion yen, and operating profit fell 73% to 220 million yen. The number of customers at existing stores decreased by 9.3%, due to the impact of a price increase in October 2011 on approximately 90% of all products, including “Original Chicken” and burgers, as well as problems that occurred when the app was revamped in April 2012, such as the inability to log in, which also slowed promotional activities. Selling and administrative expenses ballooned due to increases in advertising and promotion expenses and outsourcing costs for home delivery services. On July 10, KFC Japan announced that a tender offer by American investment fund Carlyle Group had been completed. Following an extraordinary general shareholders’ meeting to be held on August 29th, the company is scheduled to be delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market on September 18th.
>>2 I understand the price hikes for fertilizer, wheat, feed, chicken (domestic), and oil, but the unit price is so high I lose my desire to buy lol There’s more fried chicken now.
It’s just so expensive! Too expensive!! Even if it’s half the price it’s now, it’s still too expensive!!! Are you seriously an idiot? lol There’s no way it will sell for that price lol.
I haven’t been to McDonald’s or KFC since they raised their prices. Not worth buying given the increased price. If that’s okay, why not get into the money business?
Because I like it, I sometimes get a craving for it, but after eating I think “I’ve had enough for a while” and the next time I eat it is 2-3 months later.
I don’t mind it being expensive, I want to eat something big and juicy like in the old days. The other day, I bought one for my mother for the first time in a while, and she said, “It’s gotten so small. ” He was surprised and disappointed.
Leave low-income Japanese people alone. The wealthy spend far more money than low-income Japanese people. The wealthy who don’t spend it should just be confiscated.
