[Gyukaku half price for women] Why are there differences of opinion among men too? “Don’t they have a girlfriend to ask out?” or “It goes against gender equality” – which do they sympathise with?

Gyukaku, a major yakiniku chain, has launched a half-price all-you-can-eat campaign exclusively for women, sparking mixed reactions on x (formerly Twitter). While there has been criticism over the fact that only women can take advantage of the half-price “benefit,” there are divided opinions among male users as well. Gyukaku’s campaign commemorates its participation in “Tokyo Girls Collection,” which will be held on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, and will run for a total of eight days, from Monday to Thursday until the 12th of the same month. Rains International, which operates the chain, explained that the data behind the plan showed that “women order four plates of meat less than men at all-you-can-eat restaurants,” and appealed that “the total food and drink costs will be reduced even when couples or families dine together.” Male users who are outright critical of this have argued that “changing the content of the service depending on whether it’s for men or women is excluding men and is sex discrimination,” “If the gender roles were reversed, would women really have quietly accepted it?”, “Women have repeatedly criticized it as ’male privilege,’ so it doesn’t make sense for them to remain silent when it benefits them,” and “This is not a service that should be tolerated in this day and age when gender equality is the norm.” Men who are opposed to the idea say things like, “Why not just invite a female friend or lover?”, “It’s embarrassing because it’s only a 2000 yen difference in price”, “Women eat less to begin with”, “Private companies are free to carry out their promotional activities”, “I would understand being upset if the price was only raised for men, but the price for men remains the same, so it’s not a problem”, “They’re not popular because they think ’this is discrimination against men’ rather than ’I’ll invite my girlfriend’”, and “The ones making a fuss are single, with no girlfriend or family.” Such a huge divide in opinions over the same attribute of male has been rare in recent years in the world of x. Those opposed to the campaign, mentioned above, argue that “it doesn’t make sense to dismiss as ’shameful’ when men use methods that women have used to expand their own rights,” “this isn’t about being popular or not, it’s about discrimination at its core,” and “they’re not speaking out because they’re “losing” 2,000 yen, they’re just following the fundamental principles of ’gender equality’ that women and society have been advocating.” Continue reading on Yahoo News Lasisa Editorial Department 2024/09/04 6:05 ★1 2024/09/04 (Wed) 09:33:45.31 ※Previous thread [Half-price for women at Gyukaku] Men also have “opinions” Why… “I don’t have a girlfriend to ask out” “It goes against gender equality” Which do you sympathize with? Weak man: “I hate women… I hate women who eat yakiniku at half price…!” Gyukaku: “Come as a couple or with your family!” Weak man: “That’s discrimination against men!!!”
>>16 Femi-leftist: “Equality between men and women! Genderless! It doesn’t matter if you’re male or female! We’re all the same human beings, so we should all be equal!” Man: “Half price for women? That’s discrimination against men…” Femi-leftist: “What?! You’re a man! You’re a man, so don’t be picky about small things! Men shouldn’t be picky about small things! Weak man, cheesy cow!”
