According to Tokyo Shoko Research, the number of ramen restaurant bankruptcies (Japan Industry Classification/Subclassification) from January to September 2024 was 47 (an increase of 42.4% from the same period last year), surpassing the previous annual record of 45 cases in 2023 (January to December) since data collection began. Supported by COVID-19 related support measures, the number of bankruptcies in 2022 decreased by only 21. However, even though the coronavirus has subsided, restrictions on movement have been lifted, and daily life has returned to normal, there are still factors that are holding back business operations, such as high prices and labor shortages, and companies are struggling to recover their performance. People eventually got tired of it being too repetitive.

The store owner, who had been driving around in a new car thanks to the coronavirus grant, simply walked out.

This, this is fine.

Ramen is not necessary for life so I don’t care if it goes out of business.

I think a book titled “The Top 100 Ramen Restaurants with Awesome Customer Service” would be a big seller.

Only restaurants that can sell a bowl of ramen for 1,000 yen will survive.

Just when things were finally starting to get better after enduring the coronavirus pandemic with our arms folded, the currency exchange machine died when new banknotes were issued. We tried to vent our frustrations by reporting unpleasant customers on x, but it went bankrupt.

The number of food trucks has increased so much that I no longer go to ramen restaurants.
0011Anonymous Donburako.Oct. 23, 2024 (Wed) 11:21:13.30ID:21OzohZF0
I won’t say where, but it’s true that there are bad ramen shops
(´・ω・`;)
Whether they go out of business is another matter lol.

I heard that the only thing is whether you can make noodles or not. At a ramen restaurant owned by a friend.

It’s not that ramen shops are a particularly tough business, it’s just that a lot of idiots think it’s ridiculously easy, and so they just tie a towel like a headband, cross their arms, and take a photo, and then they fail. It’s important to know that it’s nearly impossible to survive in a highly competitive business like a ramen shop.
0019Anonymous Donburako.Oct. 23, 2024 (Wed) 11:23:02.32ID:8NeTLOcD0
I’ve always had the impression that ramen shops close down without anyone noticing.

Ramen is good enough as an assembly line at a chain restaurant.

I think he’s going out of business because he intimidates customers by wrapping a towel around his head and crossing his arms.

There will probably be more cases of bankruptcy and closure at the end of the fiscal year in December.

The chain restaurant I recommend is Uobei. It’s not a ramen shop, but the ramen is delicious.

For Japanese people who live off the yen, everything becomes more expensive and they become poorer because of the weak yen. Unless we vote to defeat the party that promotes a weaker yen, I think the yen will continue to weaken and life will become increasingly difficult.

Because there’s no competition.

You don’t need to eat ramen, it’s just a lump of salt, oil and carbohydrates, it’s extremely bad for your body.

I can’t go to non-chain stores anymore because the staff are annoying and they have mysterious rules.

I was surprised to see about four ramen shops on the main street near my house.
Some of them have been featured in the media.
The prices seem to be reasonable…1200 yen, 1500 yen, and even 1800 yen…
I wonder how many days’ worth of my lunch will be worth that🥺.

It’s delicious enough with fresh noodles from the supermarket, a soup made by mixing some seasonings you have at home, and some leftovers from the fridge.

There are so many ramen shops that it’s natural that some will go out of business, and 47 shops isn’t a huge number.
