The post was made on social media on the 18th by a restaurant in Saitama Prefecture that serves hearty ramen. Shortly after noon that day, a man and woman in their 30s entered the store. Because they only purchased one meal ticket for two people, the staff member told them, “Please purchase one drink per person.” The customer then became angry and began yelling, “Why?” and “Give me my time back.” In the end, the staff refunded the meal ticket and asked the male customer to leave, but the male customer threw the ticket and slammed the refunded coins onto the counter. The store owner says that despite rising costs of raw materials and other things, he is managing to keep prices down through management efforts. Owner of Menya Kiriryu Higashikawaguchi Main Branch: “If things like this are allowed to continue, it will make business difficult and make regular customers and first-time customers feel uncomfortable. We are taking firm action to ensure that it doesn’t become that kind of space.”

Don’t you know what a bowl of soba noodles is?

It has become a poor country.

To me, ramen restaurants are inferior to soba restaurants that serve ramen when there are no other options.

Ramen has become expensive, costing 1,000 yen a bowl, so customers like this will likely appear.

Such arrogance befitting someone who makes a living selling such nutritious poison. I’m embarrassed for the store owner to see this.

To be honest, if I were eating in a restaurant, I would want to enjoy my meal so I think the owner should be a little lenient.

Isn’t there a difference between a store making an effort to keep prices down and forcing people to buy?
17Anonymous @ Teary-eyed. (SoftBank) [sg].Dec. 22, 2024 (Sun) 12:54:50.79ID:HXsRnPTg0
Unless it’s something really outrageous, the store has the right to refuse, so many customers think they can get away with anything.

There are a lot of idiots who get angry over the appetizer, so it’s about time we drilled the concept of seating fees into the ignorant masses.

I guess it’s better than being left behind. In that case, if people don’t order, they should just charge 300 yen for the appetizer portion.

Ramen shops that have nothing else going for them but low prices are often struggling financially and the owners are often frustrated, so they often yell at the customers.

I can understand if you have a small child with you, but I don’t understand the sense of coming as a couple and only ordering one drink. Are you a brave person or just lacking common sense?
28Anonymous @ Teary-eyed. (Zipangu) [us].Dec. 22, 2024 (Sun) 12:56:36.64ID:YdutbMBy0
That person is a rare customer so you should leave them alone. Life must be tough if they get so upset over such a small thing.

I wish these shitty ramen places would go out of business. It’s fine for two people to come here for a drink if they’re just a little hungry.

There used to be a chanpon restaurant near my parents’ house that was so big that it would often accommodate shared customers. The owner was old, though, so it closed down about 20 years ago.

I don’t know. If you’re not happy, go to another ramen shop. Don’t think they’ll give you whatever you want.

If that’s the case, you should have posted a notice outside the store in the first place.
The famous ramen shop in the neighborhood has a notice posted saying that they don’t allow children under elementary school age to enter.

There’s a way to put it, but it’s not just the customers who bow and prostrate themselves, even though it’s a ramen shop.

In Italian restaurants, it’s common to share it among 2-3 people, but ramen shop owners are so nit-picky about how you eat it, did you eat the mustard greens?

This is the kind of store that attracts such customers.
