Former US President Donald Trump (78) held a press conference on the 8th at his Mar-a-Lago mansion in southern Florida, where he sharpened his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris (59), the Democratic candidate he will face in the November presidential election in which he is seeking a comeback, calling her “far-left” and “not smart.” As Harris is generating enthusiasm that is being described as “the largest since former President Obama” (U.S. media), she appears to be growing anxious to regain attention. This will be Trump’s first time speaking to an unspecified number of media outlets since accepting Harris’ nomination. “She’s not smart enough to hold a press conference,” he said at the more than hour-long press conference. “America needs wise leadership,” he said. They questioned Harris’ qualifications, saying she was nominated without a party primary and has no experience answering tough questions from opponents or reporters. According to an average of various opinion polls compiled by the political website Real Clear Politics, Harris is rapidly catching up with Trump in national approval ratings, and has overtaken him since the 5th. Asked about any changes to his election strategy, Trump said: “I haven’t changed anything. “The issues at stake are border issues and crime prevention,” he said. However, according to the Washington Post, he has shown signs of weakness, saying to those around him, “It’s not fair that I defeated Biden (who has given up on running for reelection), and now I have to defeat Harris as well.” On the 6th, he posted on social media, “I wonder what the chances are that Biden will try to regain the nomination at the Democratic Convention (starting on the 19th),” hinting at his reluctance to face Biden again. At the press conference, Trump also made the false claim regarding the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters, which resulted in multiple deaths, that “no one died, but those involved are being treated unfairly.” He had recently come under fire for saying that Harris “went from Indian to black.” It is unclear whether increased media exposure will lead to a comeback. >>1 I misread it as a shadow over Harris’s momentum I guess he was panicking over Harris’s momentum Trump will lose The US economy is in great shape, corporate fundamentals are strong, and the perfect financial results have led to record profits Even if you intentionally make the stock market fall, you can’t fool the Fed, and interest rates won’t be cut now that the economic overheating hasn’t subsided.
>>1 If Harris becomes president, the Russia-Ukraine war will not end. The Democratic Party is basically a warmonger. Japan was also defeated by Roosevelt lol.
Trump is tough. If the Democratic convention had been held a month earlier, Biden would have been the winner and Trump might have won. But now he seems to be seen as nothing more than an old man.
Just because someone is a Democrat doesn’t mean they’re left-wing or far-left, and when he gets flustered, he’s an old, irrelevant guy who just says things that aren’t true and criticizes others.
>>29 The American Minsu Party, like the Japanese Minsu Party, is essentially the American branch of Comintern, the American Communist Party. It’s nothing more than a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party.
It’s so lame that they want Biden to come back. They kept telling him to leave. I think if he’d just gone in with a conciliatory pose right after the shooting, he would have won. I couldn’t resist.
Meanwhile, Harris has chosen not to give any press conferences or interviews to avoid being exposed. They’ll be able to practice for the debates and will be attacking Trump’s character thoroughly, as his defenses are too weak.
