From free donuts and milkshakes to free e-scooter rentals, a number of US companies are offering specific services to people who have already voted in the US presidential election. Some don’t even require proof of having voted. Krispy Kreme, a doughnut chain based in North Carolina, will be giving out free “I Voted” stickers and original glazed doughnuts at participating stores across the country on Election Day, May 5. Chief Brand Officer Dave Skeena explains that the service is based on the idea that “participation in democracy should be celebrated.” You don’t need to prove you voted to receive your free doughnuts. If Japan handed out freebies, the voter turnout would go up
But it’s not good for companies to jump on the bandwagon, their intentions are too obvious
In Japan, if you vote you get 100 My Number points, and the funding can come from the salary of elected representatives or something.

These guys are always eating donuts
and probably drinking diet supplements
I guess that’s how a consumer nation should be, but they’re rich.

I do think it would be a good idea to set up food trucks in front of polling stations on election day, but I think that would probably be illegal.

In the past, they used to give out free McDonald’s coupons for donating blood.
Back then, there were many young people who enthusiastically donated blood, saying, “I’m going to donate blood! I’m going to donate blood!”

In America too, democracy and capitalism are getting mixed up and it’s becoming less and less about what’s good for the people. In short, both Japan and America are kingdoms of hereditary, materialistic, upper class people.

I thought about placing a blood donation truck in front of the polling station, but since voting is simultaneous across the country, that would be inefficient. At least at early voting stations. The US presidential election seems to be a very national event, but I wonder if the actual voter turnout is low. Or will they make money from “election-taking business”?

Democracy was wrong. It was a power game played by the aristocrats that didn’t matter to most citizens.
