With Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election, attention is now turning to the future actions of Hollywood celebrities who have publicly stated that they would leave the US if Trump was re-elected. America Ferrera (40), an American actress known for her role as Betty in the popular TV series “Ugly Betty” and in the movie “Barbie,” said, “I’m disgusted that Trump was elected president again. I’m devastated that Kamala (Democratic candidate Harris) lost. “I thought my country was a better country…” he confided to a source, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail. Ferrera is reportedly considering leaving the US and moving to the UK to start a new life for her husband, American actor Ryan Piers Williams (43), and their two children. American singer Cher (78) also said that the previous Trump administration had damaged her mental health, saying that she “almost got a stomach ulcer,” and that she “planned to leave the country if he were re-elected.” Others who have declared that they would leave the United States if Trump is re-elected include American actress Whoopi Goldberg (68) and British actress Minnie Driver (54), who has lived in Los Angeles for nearly 30 years. Meanwhile, some celebrities have already left the US. Sophie Turner (28), the British actress who starred in the American fantasy drama “Game of Thrones,” revealed in an interview with American magazine Harper’s Bazaar last week that she had recently returned to her home country with her children. She said she decided to return to the country after considering her children’s future, given the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to deny the constitutional right to abortion, a decision supported by the Republican Party, and the worsening public safety situation caused by social unrest. Turner divorced American singer Joe Jonas (35) last year.
>>1 America Ferrera lol Now that I think about it, Ugly Betty was also a propaganda to get people to accept immigrants. Just like the drama with Fukada Kyoko and Yoon Son Ah.
Last weekend, it was reported that a senior US military officer who is a candidate for the next Cabinet position had requested access to Epstein and Didi’s client list.
I often hear people say that it’s great that celebrities in America speak out on politics and that Japan should follow their example, but when you look at America, it seems like celebrities making political statements just deepens the divide, so I think Japan is probably just right.
