In response to the results of a survey by the National Federation of Insurance Doctors’ Associations (Hodanren) which showed that over 70% of medical institutions said that the current health insurance cards should be retained, Digital Minister Taro Kono said at a press conference on the 20th, “Surveys asking people to keep their insurance cards are no benefits and no harm. I don’t think this is going to be helpful,” he said. He answered when asked directly by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations. Kono dismissed the idea, saying, “If we continue to rely on health insurance cards forever, medical institutions will be in trouble after December 2nd (when new issuance will be halted).” The investigation is (omitted)
