A survey by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on the 8th revealed that the number of children and students who need Japanese language instruction at public elementary, junior high and high schools in 2023 will be 69,123, the highest number ever. This is an increase of 18,160 people from the previous survey in fiscal 2021, and has doubled in about 10 years. The background to this is that the labor shortage caused by the declining population has led to an increase in the acceptance of foreign talent, and an increasing number of foreigners are moving to Japan with their families. The survey covered 1,788 local governments across the country, asking about the situation as of May 1st of last year. Of the students whose schools determined they were unable to converse fluently in Japanese and in need of Japanese language instruction, 57,718 were foreign nationals (an increase of 10,099 from the previous survey) and 11,405 were Japanese nationals (an increase of 717 from the previous survey). Even if they have Japanese nationality, some children have lived abroad for a long time and cannot speak Japanese fluently. For the full text, see source. Last updated: 8/8 (Thu) 19:42.
>>1 Kick them out! On the other hand, if a Japanese family goes to work in another country, will the host country use tax money to educate the Japanese children? Isn’t it their own responsibility?
The internal conflicts will likely cost more than they deserve, and it’s only a matter of time before immigration restrictions are put in place, but the scary thing about this country is that it’s going to take so long.
Ah, welfare and social security payments for foreigners will increase again. Will Japanese hard-earned tax money be used to support the lives of traitorous foreigners?
> The background to this is the increasing acceptance of foreign workers due to the labor shortage caused by the declining population, and the increasing number of foreigners moving to Japan with their families. Total immigration.
I think that while people are “releasing stress” by brandishing xenophobic slogans that they can’t even fulfill, the situation will only get worse and the public safety situation will really worsen.
When you go to mainland America, if your English pronunciation is even slightly lame, people give you a look like “what the hell is this guy, go die” Japanese people are too nice, so be more disliked by foreigners.
Children and students who are judged to need Japanese language instruction in public elementary, junior high and high schools should be suspended and sent to Japanese language schools. I want government services that unfairly give preferential treatment to foreigners to be stopped immediately.
>>40 It’s hilarious that the people who shout “Stop hate speech” and “Don’t discriminate against foreigners” are silent when Japanese people are discriminated against.
Public housing is full of foreigners. Even if they are in different elementary school districts, they end up together in junior high school, so the number of foreigners taking private school entrance exams is on the rise.
